Friend is waiting for Skoda Octavia since Nov 21

Coworker recently received his Octavia that he waited for 1 year and 1 week.

I sympathise with everyone waiting, I'm just thankful I know I have a car on it's way, whenever it arrives. Around 400 were ordered in the UK in April, over 100 cars sat at Toyota UK HQ, some since as long ago as May, still none of us given a date of delivery. It'll be worth the wait, and there must be reasons behind the delays, it's just really hard to understand why Toyota are refusing to communicate with their customers (only answering questions when asked, rather than sending out updates, and even then vague answers with no commitments to delivery dates). I know the 'brake software update' was the original reason, but that doesn't explain why cars still aren't being delivered now.

My smurf blue GR86 is expected to arrive at my dealership on 13. december 2022, maybe 5 days earlier or later due to the truck transport from the port to my country.

Yep, stories everywhere. My friend is finally collecting his Fiesta ST tomorrow, 20 months after ordering it and it still is missing some options he ordered.

I have not driven it on the Summer tires yet, I had the Winters put on before collection. In week 2 of ownership I was dozy and scuffed a front rim in a car park. Lesson learned and wheel repaired.

Just hit 1 month of ownership. Should be at 3000 kms driven today/tomorrow.

What is your average consumption? Is 400km on a tank realistic? I already see GR86s popping up on Verbrauch: Toyota - GR86 - Spritmonitor.de.

Not that I really care about the consumption, but less than 400km radius on a tank would be pretty annoying.

It can do 400 km in one full tank without a problem, even when driving sprited. I get about 9l/100km on a engine that is not broken in and drive normally about 110 km/h on the highway

After 9 months or so I finally received a VIN, my car should be at the dealership by end of next week. It's so good to finally have confirmation that it really exists and is in the country already
Should I be able see some data in the dev tools without the car being in the "order" tab? It's only listed under "my cars" and there's no order number. I quickly read through all of the 260 requests but nothing useful.

I placed my order on March 4th 2022, in Austria orders were placed from February 21st, but the newsletter did not inform you about this, I was lucky that I asked the dealer.

The planned delivery date was September 2022.

There is no link to the mytoyota app in Austria, neither with the GR86 nor with other Toyota models - you always have to contact the dealer.
The dealer then emails the importer and calls back the next day to give you the current status. My car is said to be "in transit".

He received a demo car last week, but I'm waiting for my blue one.

Agreed. Even ice silver has grown on me which I initially wanted to wrap over but depending on the light it doesn't even look like "just silver". And I want the car to be on the stealthier side because the evil exhaust will be illegal
