When did you order yours? I ordered mine few weeks ago but dealer couldnt tell me how long the wait time is. Said anywhere from 8m to 1y. Would like to know how long we in germany have to wait
Even though I didn't order in Germany I will answer since pretty much all European cars go through the same process via Toyota in Zeebrugge. The wait time about 8 - 12 months is standard and seems to be correct. I follow this thread for months now and all orders made after 8-9/22 are set for delivery in Q3 - Q4 23. Unfortunately, Toyota cannot tell the exact time, because the car is built by Subaru and build slot is notified just before the actual production.

Someone in front of you with the same spec needs to cancel their order... That is your only chance to shorten the time.

Faster option would be to get the BRZ (if still available), which is supposedly coming early 23. Subaru in Czechia just made the announcement and have a non-binding waitlist.

Please refer to this thread regarding the BRZ: BRZ in Europe update | Toyota GR86 Forum - GT86 Forum, Subaru BRZ Forum, Scion ...

Regarding the GR86 orders... There is no general rule for "first" or "second" waves of orders. It seems that each country had different time frames and opportunities. I know you could order the GR86 in Benelux and France in September. Whereas in some countries orders were closed early in March and opened again later on.

I just hope there will be a second wave of orders in Germany =)
Normally I wouldn't care when but stupid EU laws forbit the car mid 2024 so time is unfortunately running out. :(
As i said i ordered in Hannover few weeks ago. Check with your autohaus again. They also just received the show model, waiting now till its ready for the test drive. Hope they call me about it this week.

Why should there be no second wave?
For the same reasons you guys waited almost 10 month or more. I just don't trust Toyota at the moment nor does my dealer which is one of the top 5 in Germany and biggest in the state. They just get zero information from Toyota in cologne. It's the GR center in Frankfurt by the way besides the huge Lexus dealer.

Toyota has canceled all their ordered demo cars and they just received the customer cars.

My car was ordered in March and arrived in July. Took less then 4 months.
It wa sjust blocked 4 months by the update issue.

Toyota did no give away any information at all, so this will also be the case for the second batch.

All GR-Centers have demo cars. If tehre would be no more cars, they would sell their domes to customers.
And it was allways said, that there will be more cars.

So there is no reason to believe, they wont come..

Well I can tell you 100% my autohaus got the demo car. I have seen it and was in it the day it arrived. Just have to wait a bit till they unlock it and register it for the test drives.
It's not that I don't believe you. For my dealer it's like demo cars would be nice but what the heck... at least all theirs costumers from the first wave got their cars.

Yeah, fingers crossed. Let's just stay optimistic

Yeah, hang on in there. Toyota will deliver the cars, it will just take some time.

And it will be worth the wait! The new review in EVO magazine rated it as 5 stars, and a better car than the Alpine. Of course its an opinion, but I would agree :)

Last time I talked to my dealer (about the end of the Smurfs), he told me that they were in the process of cancelling orders for some other Toyota models. But people can place a new order for more money and hope for a second chance...

We just have to get used to the new fact that minimun 6 months wait time for a new car is the norm. Other Toyota/Subaru cars are no exceptions. Even those built in Europe.

Auto makers won't let the Covid times happen again where the supply exceeded the demand. I have heard that the wait time for Skoda Karoq is 14 months in certain spec, lol.
