About 740 euro tax anually. One time registration 2400€ or so. 1260€ full coverage insurance.

Lucky you. That's the price I paid for the gt86 10 years ago for a Brussels registration and full insurance. And still 446 eur for the annual tax.

There's 2 demo black and red 86's in Vilvoorde about 8km from downtown Brussels, I don't think you can book a testdrive yourself but you can simply walk in to see them.

Already did it: according to the website (both Toyota Europe and Toyota Italy) there is no recall on my car (but it's still stuck at the dealer)...

then I think we can conclude that there is no technical issue and it may be "just" administrative, homologation or marketing thing.

BTW I have asked some dealers and all said they are not allowed to tell customers the reason of holding the GR86...
