I just think...and hope..that dealer had no idea what I was talking of..
I wouldn't worry that much: every major car magazine (e.g. Quattroruote, AlVolante etc.) talked about a launch during the spring, that means we may still have two months to wait...
The more I have to do with (certain) car dealers, the more I convince myself that only a few of them actually care about their job, their products and their customers...

I don’t know if it’s a mistake or what, but my tracker today jumped to the in transit stage (second to last step). I’ve ordered last week in Italy 😀.
Same here: I ordered a base, manual, thunder (Neptune) blue GR86 and a few hours ago the myToyota app notified me that the car had been shipped! No ETA though...

So, I have interesting news: in mid may I ordered, here in Italy, a Base, manual, GR86...
After a week the status on the website was updated from "processing" to "delivery" (or whatever, you get the idea), and last week the car actually arrived at the dealer (looks like it had already been shipped in early April)... BUT my dealer informed me that they received a recall from Toyota and, although they already have the car, they can't sell it until the problem (which apparently has something to do with the brake actuator) is fixed...
Anyone else knows anything about this? I checked on the website of Toyota Italy, and there is no recall associated to my VIN, plus I can't find any other info about this on the internet, so I'm a little confused...

Hi guys,

Bought my GR86 6 weeks ago, it was a demo model, brand new, never use. I can't take possession of it now because of a recall by Toyota Europe. My dealership told me about a default in a security function in a GR86 somewhere in Europe and Toyota doesn't want to take any risk until they now what happened.
Did you have any more informations ?

By the way the 86 production for the European market should start on february 2023 at the Gunma factory, with first delivery on april/may 2023.
According to my dealer it looks like the issue is about the brake actuator (he also said that it was a minor issue, but Toyota being very thorough they're stopping all the sales nonetheless)... I've been trying to get more details but, so far, neither the dealers seem to have the full picture, and looks like they're waiting updates from Toyota as well...

Hi guys, I'm new here, so I may not have caught all the info that's already been written here.

I'm from the Czech Republic, my dealer told me that only 6 cars (out of the 150 ordered) will be arriving to the Czech Rep. this year and I SHOULD BE one of the lucky ones that will be getting their car this year.

Now there's this problem, my car is reportedly already in the central Toyota store (in Belgium I guess?), it is there for a month already, but is waiting for some update and no one knows how long it will take. Does that make sense? Can anyone tell me more about that? Thanks :)
Welcome to the club then 😅
Apparently all the GR86 that arrived so far in the EU have been recalled by Toyota for some kind of problem, but there isn't any official communication by Toyota about it yet.
Unofficially though, it seems like the problem should be about the brake actuator, and the solution might be a simple software update of the brake ECU...

Yoooo and its in the cool blue, nice get!!! Post more pics!!
I'll try my best, lately I have been super busy with work and my little kid, but next week I should be able to take a little trip in the Alps during lunch break!
What a beautiful color that most of us in the EU cannot have (envy)! Enjoy your smurf blue unicorn car :D
Thank you! Yeah, it's too bad that Toyota couldn't allocate more cars in this color, it's really beautiful ♥ If I couldn't have bought it in this color I guess I'd have chose the Pavement Grey though, that's underrated imho...
So did it get an extra VSC mode that has been speculated?
Yes, that's what I'd been told by the dealer months ago, I also wrote it here: it should be a software update for the brake ECU, they told me it took literally minutes to update it, so it shouldn't be long before the deliver all the cars already in you country!

Hang on guys, it's totally worth it!
