I'm getting more and more pissed by toyota.

They messed up the order process of the GR Yaris as well.

Whats the purpose of a GR brand with all its marketing costs when they are not able to actually get the cars through the line?
My guess is, that the purpose of teh GR brand is to piss of petrol heads...
They even pissed of the lucky ones, who got their cars...

@Argo

I get your point and understand that situation.

But toyota decided to offer both cars here in europe (the GR Yaris especially here, since its not on sale in the US). And therefore, we as customers, can expect a little bit of service and care taking from them.

I dont expect my car be delivered in 9 months of time, but I want a solid range when to expect the delivery. At least after already waiting that long.

that's exactly what I told my dealer over the last few weeks/months. i don't need the car right away, but i expect to be given a somewhat legitimate delivery date.

and since my order was part of the first 2022 order batch (which was sold out after a few days) i expect it to be built rather sooner than later. but considering i still have no info whatsoever i gave them a delivery deadline. not sure if it's in my best interest but I can't sit around and wait forever on Toyota to decide they actually and finally want to build and sell me a car i ordered almost a year ago.

Your dealer can confirm that your order went into the system and it's not just a peace of paper from your dealer?

I would contact Oelcheck. They have great suppport and very good analyse.
- And Im not being paid by them :D
Thanks very much!

Look, if your dealer is a legitimate operation then they should provide you with a car while you wait. I got one when I kicked up a little dust and my friend got one when his Fiesta ST delivery continued to be unclear. If you have no car now then tell them you need a definite date OR they need to provide you with an interim solution.

I've been able to "track" the order on the Toyota website ever since. its been saying "wird verarbeitet" ever since but hasn't moved to "in Produktion" yet. so I am confident the order is good to go, Toyota just hasn't built the car yet.

that's what I asked them as well. for now i don't need a car but i will check with them again come march when i actually need a car.

in other news, so far about 180 cars have been registered in Germany throughout November, both demo cars and sales. (source: somebody on the German forums has been tracking registrations for years already).

I also am counting on the info from the importer that I will get in somewhere in April 23, but then again, today I heard some information about post-summer 23 deliveries, which makes me mad again, dont need a car, have a working practical car, but damn son, i dont want to wait for the car till my retirement

This is absolutely unclear to any dealers when and how they schedule manufacture. The dealers will only know the next info in best case when the car is scheduled for manufacture. (It can also happen though they will know more when the car is manufactured and the VIN are allocated. Don’t worry the day will come and try to enjoy the waiting! Don’t forget: “Fulfillment kills desire”! Collect the money to pay the car or its accessories and prepare your garage (paint the walls, wash the floor or lay new floor cover…etc…) to the new inhabitant.

Finally I managed to take some half-decent pictures! I picked her up last saturday from the dealership.
Safe to say the black colour looks waaay better live than on any picture/video.
Already about 630km in the break-in phase, can't wait for that to be over, but driving below 4000rpm is already so good.
Next step is to get a ceramic coating.

ye was already thinking on preparing the garage :D

Thats very nice!! Color looks nice as well! cant wait for more pictures with natural light
Hope you enjoy your car !
It takes surprisingly much time to drive 200km on tiny country roads, looks like it'll take about 5 weeks before I get to 1500km.
Nevertheless it's already awesome sub-4000 rpm.

Here's more pics :)

Ha, I am experiencing the same. It takes quite a while. Only did 200 kms after 3 days.... will take a while. But indeed, it is already great below 4000/5000 rpm.

Bit belated, but finally picked up my car here in the UK on Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, the car has arrived along with a cold weather snap bringing our first freezing temperatures of the year, so I haven't had much of a chance go go out and properly enjoy it. But I am already loving it :D

Already had the ducktail spoiler fitted by Thursday afternoon....

I honestly don't really know, the amount of GT86/BRZ sold in spain is really really low, I think for the GT86 it was 30 units during 2019. Though, in some car meets you can see a few of them so that's something, it still worries me that the low number of sales will either make the GR86 inaccessible or too expensive here (and then the 2.0 supra does not sound that bad, but it is an automatic bmw) :s
I'd Chase the rarity, it's kind of special when there's no many cars in a particular country. Where I'm at in the US I've seen 1 other GR in the wild and I've had the car for 4 months. You would probably never see another on the streets.

I noticed that official Czech prices have risen by 100 000 CZK (~4000 EUR) in the December price list:

Also, it is still "Temporarily sold out" and smurf color is missing.
Interesting... that means something (at least)
As I said numerous times, Importer officially confirmed, there will be a second batch, and there will be a price increase which he also confirmed will be in thousands, and he also explained it with an example, RAV4's price was increased many times in 2022, and GR86's wasnt, so the total price increase will be in thousands, which actually happend. Everything seems to align with what he said.
