Easiest car to drift/control oversteer I've ever driven, seriously. And I've driven many M products. First gear low speed roundabout drifts are intuitive and child's play, it's so easy to place the car where you want it mid-drift. Power is sufficient to get the back out without clutch kick.
Wow in that case it should be my next car!😍 I tried also many RWD car like M2 and 370z but I find quite dificult to make a safe drifts on public roads. It just need to much space to make the rear brake traction...

That's what makes the 86 so amazing, you can do it relatively safe at low speeds :)

Nothing one should do with car owned by somebody else and one reason not to buy a demo-GR86...
You should drive a demo car like you would your own. If you can't do that what's the point of a demo drive? It's a sports car, not a Citroen C1 or something.
And no worries, if you think that's the worst that the car has seen, you should see others drive it disrespectfully...
And yes, that's the reason I don't buy demo cars.

The GR86 is even easier to drift than the GT86, especially with the engine's torque finally present throughout the rev range. But also thanks to the greater rigidity of its ground connections. Of course it takes a little practice but for those who know how to do it this car is a pure delight. For the others, it will come with the time spent driving the GR86 ;)

Because this is other peoples property. You would not want, that somebody does that to your property.
And sooner or later, this will be the property of someone else, who may not want to drift it...

The point of a demo car is to show you the car. Under normal driving conditions.
Drifting is not normal driving.
What if you crashed it?

In my oppinion, you should treat a demo, as you want others to treat your car...
Allways respect other peoples property.

Imagine, if you sell your car 8still your property) and the new drifts it while test driving. You would not want that, i guess...

And if other people do worse things, does not make it better/right...

Loosen up a little :) haven't you ever had any fun with a demo car? And isn't it important to you how it behaves in certain situations? The car should be able to handle it, check out Toyota's marketing material.
It's a demo car, not a customer car. The customer who buys it knows it has been treated like a demo car. Toyota wants you to have fun you know, it's not like I trashed it.

Called my dealer today. I ordered my GR86 in color DAR on 16/07/2022.
Deliverey should of been for around 30/03/2023, after calling today its moved to 30/06/2023 already...

But after reading this thread, i'm confused. I keep reading here that DAR is not available anymore ?

I ordered mine exactly the same day as yours - same color. (In France)
Delivery was scheduled to July 2023 - dealer called me 1 month ago to change the color - delivery date is still the same.

I'd call them back and ask them to confirm the colour. They may not know or be reading the bulletins fully from Toyota. Check the configurator on your local country Toyota site as well.

It's harder to keep it from oversteer than getting it to start ;)
C’mon, is it serious? Is everybody Sebastien Loeb here and drifting day and night on public roads? It is not possible to drive this car for fun without drifting? I just want to have a light, agile sports car - not a 4-5 door sedan - i don’t want to drift at all - just drive normally and safe around and sometimes enjoy it well within its limits. What about wet roads - is it sliding left and right all the time when accelerating? Sometimes my wife would need to drive it - is it safe for her to drive such a beast? I don’t want a car which is a safety risk all the time and be afraid of sliding accidentally to the other side of the road just because i pushed a bit more gas and doesn’t have wheel skills like Loeb or Makinen…If this is true what you drifters are writing here this is not my car and another selfmade Makinen will be happy when I sell it after it is not sold any more in EU. Please comfort me this car is not a beast. Thanks to all!
