I dont believe it is a "6psi" load limit. But more of an engine load limit. You can adjust boost with a wastegate spring, manual\electronic boost control and other ways without the tune having any control over it. I cant imagine the load tables are locked at such a low power level. Others have made well over 270HP already so there is definitely a way. Not a snowballs chance in hell anybody would spend all the $$ on forced induction just to make such little power over a bolt on tuned car.
Weird. I wonder what problem they were running into then

Those are almost identical gains as the gen 1 cars with stage 1 tune. Stage 1 with E85 was about 30HP.
Stage 2 (header and tune) says it was good for about 30HP on 91. I dont see a graph for stage 2 with E85 but I have to imagine that should be significantly more.
Crazy that a stage 1 off the shelf tune costs over $1k though. I guess I have been spoiled by Fords. I can buy an SCT flash device with custom E tune for $600 all day.
I did a little top end run , and only got 140.3 mph of 91 shell V power ! What will yours top out at ??!

My BRZ is untuned and I think it is soft limited at 140. I have seen a speedometer reading of 141 at its highest. It held that for a good 10 seconds. My tuned SHO taurus with 20" wheels, AWD and the aerodynamics of a uhaul truck has gone as high as 166 and still had more to go. Lol

I was a little disappointed 😔 in the top end for sure and it was in a down grade as well but very high in the mountain in 5 th gear ! 6 th gear automatic is useless lol

Bit how much power does that beast have? My f150 3.5 eco put down 400whp and 580ft lbs. Those engines love boost!

Yes they do..!! I have honestly never dyno'd that car. The place I like to use does not have an AWD dyno. It has just an intake an auto octane adjusting tune from gearhead tuning. I used to run a 93 octane tune from unleashed, but as gas prices got worse and worse, I heard about the auto octane tune and jumped on it. 95% of the time my wife uses that car as her daily so it doesnt need 93. With the tune it rips even on 87. I have run up to about an E30 blend of 93 and e85 and the car gets VIOLENT. AWD breaks traction and it turns into a hover craft through all of 1st gear. Lol

Damn, I had K&N I take, cold and hot side charge pipes, Wagner intercooler, stainless works catted downpipe and exhaust and the tune. It put that power down on 33" tires. Not even the 32" tires that came stock on the 4x4. I couldn't launch it in 2wd...it'd just smoke the tires. Probably the car i regret selling the most.

I finally got my car tuned. I went with the stage 1 91 tune as they didn’t have a 93 at the time I purchased. I might reach out and see if I can get a 93 now as it looks like it is available on the website.

I have to say the changes in throttle mapping alone are worth it for the gr86. I’m used to tuning ea888 Volkswagens so it’s not the night and day difference that adding 70whp to a golf r is but I’m really happy I did the tune. Rev marching is so much better and the extra 200 rpm is nice. I always felt that the stock limiter cut in too quickly and abruptly.

I also want to say the the guys at Delicous are great to work with. I had some issues with the EcuTek system itself not recognizing the 2023 ecus and then confusion on my part with the software and they were very responsive to my questions. I even got an email back on a Saturday helping me through some user error on my part.

Big thanks to William! I definitely recommend this to all owners that can afford it, especially gr86 owners with the shit stock throttle map.

EcuTek offers the same thing. You can flash your vehicle with our tune and at any time flash back to your stock OEM ROM for your vehicle.
I know this is almost a year late but was just rereading through this thread. Don’t our cars have a “flash counter” of sorts, so even if OEM tune was flashed back before a service, claim, etc. the dealer would still have visibility that the ECU was tampered with at some point?

My understanding is yes, the ECU is "marked" once flashed. There is no covering up that it was done.

Would be nice for someone who works at a dealer to confirm. If so, ability to flash back to stock is largely an irrelevant feature…

If Ecutek could come up with a way to override the ECU marking/counting such that it stores no overwrite history, people would be coming out for tunes in droves. I assume that is impossible as I have not heard of such a thing on any platform.

I do believe it is marked, BUT, the dealership needs to look for it or send the ECU into Subaru to have it inspected. Otherwise they have no clue it was reverted to stock, as everything looks normal to them.
So translation, lazy dealer tech = won’t notice. If they care to look, proof is there. As someone who values their warranty this is unfortunate but what I expected.

Not sure how its done at Subaru, but a Ford tech can very quickly see how man times the ECU has been flashed. OEM updates have software version codes attached to them, anything coming from 3rd party software will not. Granted the tech does need to "look" for the information. They dont just get a big flashing prompt when they plug in a scanner. This isnt fast n furious...

My primary concern is warranty, I think many are in the same boat. If something serious happens I would count on Toyota to do their due diligence, we already know they are no strangers to denying warranty claims. If there comes a day when ECU flashes can truly be masked I’ll be first in line.

If a person decides to modify his car when while still on warranty ,,then he or she can assume that will affect and possible void the warranty! My car is modded , and I take steps to make sure there’s nothing major to go wrong , but even then modding is still takes chances! Just saying !

Yes that’s obvious. I personally don’t assume anything, I take the time to understand exactly what I’m doing to the car and what specifically it will impact both in terms of performance and warranty. Clarifying the initial comment that one could simply flash back to stock educated myself and hopefully others that it is not so simple.

That is true indeed, and the 2022 models had lots of silicone stuck in the oil pickup ,and mine also had silicon stuck in the oil pickup , so for those who track it with the oil pick up not cleaned up , could end up with engine failure and Toyota could blame it on tracking it and void the warranty! Just a thought!!

Hi @DeliciousTuning

Just wondering if ecuteks solution (I am an AU spec car) has yet to provide any way to improve throttle response?

I couldn't give a stuff about more power honestly, just more response. And I don't mean a more aggressive throttle mapping, I mean removal of the delay.
