They're usually not 'missing', just not installed during PDI like they should be. Mine were in the glovebox, I think. Or maybe in the trunk with the jack and stuff. I can't remember.

But it's still good info, and people should definitely take a look when their car is delivered and verify.

The plug was installed in its place under the car when I got my GR86 new from the dealer.

 

Maybe it's mostly a U.S. thing? My 2023 that was delivered in Jan 2024 did NOT come with them.

Mine are not installed, and I cannot find them in the glovebox or trunk. Do I need to try to contact my purchasing dealer? They're out of state and not great to work with ....

 

You can try, but you might have to bite the bullet and order them yourself. They are quite cheap.

Pretty sure this was an “issue” on the first gen’s as well. Mine are installed. Really not a huge deal if they aren’t, just get some and put them in. I don’t think I ever put them in my original FRS, but it was a SoCal car.

 

I filled mine with RTV.

On my 2019 Brz, they were in the glove box and I didn't know until a friend told
When I got the GR86, it was the first thing I checked before the deal and they were installed.

 

One of the very first threads I read on this forum was exactly about these plugs, that was almost 2 years ago

Mine were also not installed and the thread helped me figure out what they were and where to put them

 

Thanks for the reminder to install these. I found those when I bought the car and put them in the glove box to do later, only took 2 years to get around to it.

Mine were in the trunk tucked in one of the bins under the bed cover card.

 

Thanks for posting this! I picked up my new BRZ yesterday and brought a mechanics mirror to check they had been installed. i would’ve had no idea whatsoever to check if you hadn’t posted this. The plugs were there.

 

Old post bump, but glad I found it. Took a late night delivery of my GR86 and these were in my glovebox and not installed. I wasn't sure exactly where they mounted but the video above was perfect.
