OBD fusion together with the Dauntless OBD tool works nicely on CarPlay

Does anyone know if it is possible to add the OBD dauntless app to the CarPlay home screen icons?
Would like to see some of the data on the headunit.
Not sure where I saw it here in the forum, but a member had real-time Engine oil temperature on the Headunit screen via Dauntless OBD.

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't tried the TrackOn yet, but I thought it was Okay for a one-time $10 for the OBD Fusion. I used the Dauntless as the adapter for Fusion OBD. Unfortunately, it did not communicate to the vehicle since I used the Dauntless on the ASC CAN adapter. When switching to the standard OBD port, it showed me the rpm and the engine coolant temperature (not sure if I can get more in the settings). I am unsure why it didn't work on the ASC CAN adapter. Dauntless on the ASC gives a lot of vehicle data there. I hope Dauntless (@Weston) does an upgrade, if possible. for CarPlay compatibility.

This one comes up somewhat often, so please forgive the copy/paste...

I'd like to utilize CarPlay and Android Auto, but have been clearly told not to do it.

Both Apple and Google have unfortunately placed many restrictions on what apps are allowed to do directly via these systems, including how often we're allowed to update the screen. For example, Apple specifically says, "Do not periodically refresh data items in the CarPlay UI more than once every 10 seconds (e.g. no real-time engine data)." Google may be more permissible as of late, but it's still a bit of a gamble and an evolving situation.

There are a few OBD apps that still do this, so either they got grandfathered in before the current restrictions, or just haven't gotten noticed and shut down yet. Unfortunately the rest of us have been put on notice to expect any app to be rejected where we do that, so I won't risk the availability of our apps, or the standing of our developer accounts.

The solution for CarPlay and Android Auto has usually been to install something that can mirror your phone's screen onto the car's display. We've heard of people having success using an Ottocast P3 for screen mirroring with at least our OBD app, but have not verified this.

UPDATE: The OBD Fusion app, in conjunction with the Dauntless OBD tool, works well with CarPlay. Within the Fusion app, you can find settings specific to CarPlay that allow you to configure your screen. I use a six-year-old Carlinkit for wireless CarPlay, which takes about 8-10 seconds to connect. Once connected, OBD Fusion automatically appears on the screen. In the picture below, you can see OBD Fusion displayed on the head unit, along with the same PIDs on my phone (which is no longer necessary).
Yesterday, I managed to get OBD Fusion working only when I connected the Dauntless tool to the standard OBD port. Although I prefer to keep the Dauntless tool in the glove box using the ASC CAN adapter, I couldn't get it connected initially. I tried several configurations but had no luck.
However, after driving 50 miles today, I decided to try again. I started the Dauntless app first, then opened the OBD Fusion app. When I hit connect, I was pleasantly surprised to see everything displayed on the head unit. It looks like it’s working fine now!

As a phone mount, I use this system. Rock solid. Doesn't move anywhere and takes it from car to car and any place on the dashboard
