Did anyone purchase and tuned their car with this updated UEL and the EL? If so, is there a better gain compared to the older version?

Hey @GotTofu?, interesting question about the Tomei Header ver. 2 and potential gains over the older UEL/EL versions. What are you hoping to achieve with the upgrade, or what's got you curious about this new version specifically? A little more on your goals might help others share their experiences!

Hey, I have the Ver2 Tomei UEL header. Personally I don't have my car dyno tuned so I unfortunately cant give you any data on it. I sold my JDL catted UEL Cerakoted header to get it and if it means anything - I raced my buddies Tuned VB WRX (Cobb Tuning and Perrin Intake) on the highway and I beat him every time rolling from 3rd at 40mph and up. Granted, I was on ~E70 (Delicious Flex Fuel Kit) and he was on regular California 91.

I believe the flex fuel did most the work there perhaps, but in combination of the new Tomei header, Stock OP, JDL dual resonated FP, and Apexi N1-X catback. I would say performance blew me away. I switched from JDL because I wanted more of a UEL sounds because Catted JDL makes it "Less" UEL if that makes sense

Yes, tuned by Delicious Tuning using Ecutek phone flash. They'll walk you through everything. Actually when it comes to the cold start - They did adjust it when I first got tuned, but it lowkey sounds the same to me as stock. Its still loud for some reason and I asked them to adjust it but they said they are unable to further tweak the cold start. That's my one gripe about the tune because it cold starts at around ~1,500-2,000 RPMs. Will probably contact them again about it

The cold start delete is frowned upon for emissions reasons. Cobb\Ecutek (sister companies) and their project green speed have committed to "fall in line" and not allow features that blatantly violate emissions compliance. That doesn't mean it cant be done, but businesses found in violation of these laws in the US have been shut down and ordered to pay hundreds thousands of dollars. Tuners also risk having their license taken away by Cobb\Ecutek. Something as simple as tuning off a CEL for not having a cat can open an irreversible can of worms. If you find a place to honor your request I would do them the favor of not advertising it.

Yep, just checked Delicious Tuning's website. Looks like this "Green Speed" project took place around February of this year and has since been implemented. I'd like to mention I got tuned by them before these new rules were set in place last year in 2024.

Thanks for letting us know. Delicious Tuning has been in compliance within my experience with them personally.

That regulation makes little sense to me. I may be missing something, but my understanding is that the cold start is done to heat up the primary cats in order to increase its efficiency. In the case of cat deletion, I do not see a reason for that. Also, my current understanding is that the BRZ still meets smog requirements with one cat only (do not recall seeing reports in gen2, but IIRC gen1 had a good amount of people with one cat in California).
