Yeah that's fair.

I knew the steering wheel was leather, 1st gen (at least kouki was as well), and IIRC stock shift knob was leather (my GR one for sure is), and that the seats have a leather strip around the rim where the top cushions meet the sides, but I thought everything else was vinyl (seat sides/backs as well).

I did the same exact thing with my nail. I've never seen such a fragile material. Waiting on my custom leather wheel to come in.

I have an alcantara wheel I'll be selling soon if you're interested! It matches the Neptune.
Got any pics? I'll likely be going with just black with Grey or White stitching to match the interior stitching and my Recaro

I can understand that. Here's a pic in case you (or anyone else) would be interested. It's a custom wheel by Sweidit, very high quality

Not quite for me, but very nice. I'd like to get a few things from him over the winter. What was the damage on the wheel?

I purchased this secondhand from my tuner, but I think he said it was something like $200 for the alcantara. This was a stock core to begin with.

Do we have any confirmation of someone getting a worn steering wheel replaced under warranty before?
I just took mine in today, a 2023 and I’ve had it from April till now, “damage was done due to an outside influence” like I totally don’t have ceramic tint and a windshield cover to protect from the sun and stuff and I make sure not to get anything on my steering wheel, they’ll deny everything most likely just so they save money cause they act like it comes out of their direct pockets, don’t bother and get a better steering wheel you’d like, that’s what I’m going to do cause warranty is a scam most of the time…

I'm not sure how a warranty works, I'm used to having older used cars...but if your local Toyota dealer declines the issue, can you not just goto another Toyota dealer in the next town and ask them too? I'm sure if you were to attempt that 4 or 5 times, at least one dealer will tackle it under warranty, unless they create some kind of record for declining the work.

They do record it in their system but I’m not sure if it’s across all Toyota dealers, and if anything I don’t feel like going through the hassle and wasting gas driving around when it would equal about the same to buy a new steering wheel in terms of gas and headache, also leaving it at the dealer means no car and finding another way home and back (a friend or an Uber which might mean more money)
