I’ve been enjoying my car with high quality tasteful upgrades. My phone is connected to the usb cable and I use CarPlay however there have been instances where I had to have access to the phone so I decided to look for a quality phone mount. I came across this brand - not inexpensive but this is very well engineered - precisely machined and solid. I have it set up in portrait but landscape is really nice as well. I’ll get a black lightening cable to tuck into the dash for a reasonably clean look.

I got the MagSafe one - it's got a great holding force with my case. The mechanical grip holder you have looks awesome.

I’d have to take it apart to measure it however I’ll order another mounting base as I also have a Garmin Zumo (for my motorcycle) for the side (other vent). The ball size looks the same as the ram mount set up. I occasionally use the Garmin for long trips in the country.
I got one for the wife's Forester. I'm not so happy with the company.
Place order, says delivery in 3 days at checkout. A week later I ask where my package is and I'm told "oh, 3 days is best case scenario, give it 2 weeks before complaining."
Go to install and one screw has messed up threads and no tape patch. Contact support and all they'll replace is the screw, even though it was screwed into the base and therefore the base is likely also screwed up, and those screws have now been en route for a week as well.
So poor customer support as well as poor quality control. I'll pass on a second one for the BRZ.
