Hi everyone! Introducing myself and my project here to this forum as I have always wanted to post a build thread. I feel as if I can share my experiences with my GR and hopefully receive some input also!

Im a 29yo from Australia, building a 2024 GR86 as a drift / track car.
Bought crashed from salvage auctions with only 606km on the clock!

My mum has owned an auto GT86 for the last 6 years and that is the only ZN* chassis I have driven, so pretty excited to finally own one that I can throw around!

Plans:
Keeping the stock FA24 for as long as economically feasible.
5x114.3 adapter spacers with 18x8.5+40 Tesla Model 3 rims
Desired mods:
Coilovers (BC DS ordered), Cut and Shut angle kit (currently being fabricated), bucket seats and harnesses

Check out the photos I have so far :)

Still waiting on a passenger guard, bumper and coilovers to arrive.

Update:
Got my budget angle kit back from my fabricator today. LCA's have been extended by 40mm and knuckles have been cut and shut. Gave em a lick of paint and stuck on a side to see how they look. This is the max hypothetical angle I will be able to get. Waiting on extended tie rods and tie rod ends before I can put it on the ground.

And I also received my Works Bell boss kit to mount my OG sentimental Nardi to

Little update. I have received my panels and they have been dropped off to my painter. Should get them back this week!
Order confirmation that my BC Racing Coilovers are en route and a deposit has been put down on the stock seats, so I have gone ahead and purchased a pair of fixed back OMP bucket seats to go in. Not long now! The goal is to have it out on track on the 7th of September

The amount of angle with the cut and shuts should be good!

New bumper dummied up before paint

Another update! New BC Racing DS Series coilovers arrived! Can confirm these are labelled as ZN6 which fit perfectly into the GR86.

While waiting for the panels to come back from paint, I had time to fit one of the bucket seats to the factory rail (still yet to do the passenger side) and fit my Nardi steering wheel.

Also snapped a pic of the Tomei Expreme Ti that I managed to score from Marketplace off a bloke wrecking a first gen. So loud but sounds epic! Its insane to look under this car and realise how im modifying something so new!

Progress update! We have 99% completion! (Well, maybe 80% because theres always an endless list of mods to be done to these cars)
Panels are back from paint and fitted up, whilst not perfect, its good from far!
Drove it to and from work 3 times last week to put some more kilometers on it before the drift event on the weekend. Such a little gokart, its awesome.
Managed to get the thing up to 920km and then change the run-in oil to 5w-30 full synth Penrite.
As I haven't done any sump or oiling mods, I overfilled it by 600ml as a precaution.

Here she is! All fixed up, modified and ready to send... All within a few weeks
