😂 Im sure there are some of those. For me it is an honest preference. I have a mix of manuals and autos pretty much at all times. It just so happens that the autos are driven by my wife 99% of the time. I "could" drive them whenever I want. Hell the 2 automatics I have right now will blow the doors off of my BRZ, but I still dont prefer them. A boring drive to work is much less boring everyday when I can slam some gears and make obnoxious noises fly out my tailpipes.
My other reason is from a competitive standpoint. When racing in any form....
street, autocross, circuit track, drag racing, etc if you ask me you take all the sport out of when driving an automatic. The gear changes while accelerating, braking, cornering is what makes all the difference while racing. When the car does all that for you, I cant consider you a sportsman. If you beat me in an automatic... you really didnt, your car beat me. If in equal cars you out trail brake and heel toe me, my hat goes off to you. If all you had to do was push the throttle, brake and steer I cant take it seriously.
