my Fujitsubo AR catback arrived a few days ago and i finally got a chance to throw it on.

first off: packaging and quality is AMAZING. If youre familiar with Fujitsubo exhaust systems, this is no surprise.

the system itself is slightly different than the Authorize R they offered for the 1st gen twins. It has an added resonator in the back.

Fitment was spot on. attach everything all loose. make sure the exhaust tips are centered, and tightened from front to back.

my ONLY gripe was the slip fit joint in the middle. im not a fan of slip fit exhaust joints, as they tend to often leak and if poorly designed, can bind up and make it a nightmare to adjust. They do offer a great benefit, if used in a strategic spot. It allows the used to fine tune fitment of the exhaust. Since this platform is nothing high end, things will be slightly different from car to car. The slip joint is there for this purpose.

That being said, this joint gave me ZERO issues. i was genuinely surprised. Fujitsubo put it in a very good spot and even includes a little piece of aluminum tape to cover the split area on the exhaust pipe, just to give that extra level of comfort that there wont be any leaks.

I'll try to get a driving video as soon as my left foot heals enough to drive manual again.

For now.. ill let the pictures and a cold start video do justice

i went out with a buddy to record some footage. my DSLR decided it doesnt wanna record audio for some reason. I have to figure that out and try again, but here's some iphone footage for yall.

are you still running factory headers?

I'm just going to save up more and get this over the Invidia R400 I think. Dear god it's just too balanced and perfect for me.
i don't even have the car yet but i've already got my shopping list going 🤣

i've checked the Fuji website and it appears they're out of stock currently but will be restocking with no ETA.

Here’s clips of how this catback sounds during cold start, regular driving, and a 1-2-3 pull with SME EL header and JDL FP/OP.

thanks Charles!
i'm really liking the additional bass tones from the exhaust to complement the electric shrill of the revving engine.

Did you find any issues with your setup during daily driving?

It sounds great, but it seems a little much inside relative to outside. Maybe that’s a good thing. Different for sure. The sound is awesome. I wonder if some sound deadening in the trunk would scale it back a little inside.

How well it works for DD use is kinda a subjective thing. There’s a bit of drone especially off throttle just below 3k that I don’t love. I can tolerate it, but with track season coming to a close I’ll probably either build a silencer or try swapping to something quieter for DD duty over the winter. I did do a bit of sound deadening in the trunk quite a while ago when I first installed the catless headers because initially the drone with the HKS exhaust was pretty bad. That did cut down that a little bit, but I still ended up swapping catbacks.

The Fujisubo is less drone than which HKS?

I am in the process of getting mine, will probably pick it up next month. Did you have to tune your ECU in any way or did you have any error messages/codes after installing the exhaust system?
