Front Bumper Tow Strap Install

How do people install tow straps like the Blitz, Cusco, or Sparco ones? Most seem to require some drilling to the crash bar. Is there a way to utilize the tow hook location rather than drilling?

Seems like you want a tow hook over a strap then. Something like this, screws into the stock tow hook location.

That’s a good looking tow hook. Unfortunately I really want to do the strap because it’s cheaper, looks better better (subjectively), safer during a crash, smaller opening on the bumper cover, and that’s what the GT300 car did 😂

You have to remove the bumper to install. Then you pull the strap through the opening.
No, I am talking about where to mount it on the crash bar. The tow strap does not have the threads like the tow hook (see above picture). I heard that if you did not mount the tow strap at the correct location, that area of the crash bar could be pulled out and deformed.

This is a bit outside of what you're asking, but more of a PSA to the community:

My Canadian GR86 Premium came with a grey tow hook.

Take a look in your trunk's spare tire styrofoam area.
Yeah, I took everything out of the styrofoam (scissors jack (I don't carry a spare anyways), tow hook, screwdriver, etc.) I am just looking at how to install the tow strap for (1) the look and (2) track usage while putting the side spoilers, fenders, and front bumper cover back on the car.
