I have the 8 speaker upper trim Toyota sound system with a beatsonic amp.

The Focal are a strong upgrade of the door woofer and dash tweeter. A big difference is that the OEM door woofer had a lowpass but the Focal woofers are unrestricted. (I was likely wrong about the previous statement. The OEM door woofers seem to have been fed full spectrum and not filtered as there is no inline filter on the OEM woofers). Quality of sound is very noticeably increased across the full spectrum. Easy plug n play install.

Fully worth the $300 CAD for me.

I've the same Focal IS TOY 165 in my BRZ. It's a 6 speaker system but 2 of those (in the dash) are just tweeters.

Have found the same, plenty of bass from the Focals, but the highs and mids are very prominent. Will have a look at my EQ setting again, although I reckon they are similar to yours.

At least now I can turn up the volume and not have the door speakers break up and distort!

It is? Do you have a picture of it? Unless it's crossed over in the amp, in all my years doing this, that'd be the first time I ever see a factory woofer have a lowpass filter built onto it. I know a lot of aftermarket companies are doing that to split the crossover instead of having a big box to mount somewhere, typically an inline filter for the tweeter and either inline filter for the woofer or mounted onto the basket itself. Usually only see passive filters on mids and tweeters from the factory.

I was going based on how they sounded before I changed em out and what I thought were previous discussions about this. Looking at the OEM woofer I don't see any inline filter. Here's a far more in depth discussion where there's mention of the door woofers being fed full spectrum from the trunk amp so it does look like I'm wrong on this if the info is accurate.

This is the correct item right?

Correct. That's the exact seller i bought from. Got it relatively quick from Germany via fedex. Be extra careful with the tweeters' fragile dome.
