i received feedback from 2 german companies who will develope exhaust systems for the GR86. But they are awaiting their development car as we do... So that will probably take until next year.
Bastuck and Remus are the companies. They have also parts for the GT86. I am still waiting for feedback from FOX and Supersprint!
Beeing german companies, these will go with the German TUV. Most strict shit on earth lol.. :D

But for now and probably this year - no legal aftermarket exhausts (at least for Germany) specificly designed for the GR86.
All current aftermarket parts beein installed happily in the US are forbidden in the EU as far as i know (could be wrong). In germany you have no chance once the car is louder than listed on the papers.
No news received yet? :) I'm hoping when I go for an exhaust I won't hear as much of the unpleasant and worrying noises my car makes lol.
But so far only Milltek seems to have a EC exhaust. If it takes much longer for the others I might go for an EC Milltek with extra midpipe without resonator. Hope they don't see it at the inspection and if they do I'll just swap the midpipe every now and then.

Totally agree but it voids the warranty so not an option... there's no way Toyota is going to warranty anything with a cracked ECU (which you can't hide).
That's also true but I'm not relying on their warranty at all. It begins with the oil the recommendation. If the engine blows and they find out that I'm using Motul 300V 5w30 and not their fuel economy oil the warranty is voided anyway.

There's a Swedish guy on Facebook who purchased the resonated Milltek first but swapped to a non-resonated one. There's a video of both of them. The resonated one was not louder than stock.
Catback is not really an option, its horribly loud on cold starts...
Anything louder than stock is illegal in germany ....so no option. I am all in for the boxer rumble with catted UEL header tho. I dont need the car louder, i just want a sick as sound type and matt black quad exhaust on mine

I don't want it loud either, I like my neighbors :) but stock is really unacceptable, can't hear the engine at all. I don't think a nice rumble is even possible without making it louder.

Are they really measuring the decibels? Or is a EC exhaust per definition not louder than stock? In that case I don't think there's a solution for me except swap the exhaust before each inspection. I'm fishing for a magical solution but there might be none...

As far as I know you are not allowed to have a louder exhaust anymore. Manufacturers are trying different tones / frequencies so the human ear / brain thinks it is louder.

If I were you I’d find a less silenced axle back if there are any or the non resonated Milltek. If there is a problem at the inspection you can swap the Milltek resonator in just for the inspection.

That‘s the new magical solution I think. :D

I have confirmation from Bastuck, that they will bring up some products. Last time I asked (spring/summer) they wrote they will start development when they have their car. By now, they should have it I hope.

Just received a quote from another reseller, 976,33€ for the SSXSB030 (resonated + stainless polished tips) + extra non-resonated midpipe at 143€ (excluding installation though) - I think I made up my mind :)
For milltek GR86 exhausts, we got a lot of discounts from 10-20% here in germany. So I think many of you in Europe can get that too, with the right contacts :)

Got a 15% discount on the catback. I'll post a video when it's mounted :)
Is it advised to mount after the break-in period or doesn't matter at all?
