When you guys speak of "legal" do you actual mean the emissions testings or the general idea or theory wether or not the part is "legal" to use because of stupid EU bureaucracy?
Since the axle back exhaust sound really nice with this generation it's an easy and cheap way to get some proper sound out of the car without getting issues with emissions.

In my case I prefer TĂśV-approved and No Police Problems.
But if It looks like OEM and the car is not common, maybe no one of them care? :ROFLMAO:

Same, it needs to pass yearly inspection so needs to be resonated and with certificate.
Milltek recently released theirs for the GR86 (4 different tips, resonated or non resonated) but no certification...

I don't think it's possible to have a legal louder exhaust in the year 2022 in the EU. Correct me if I'm wrong.
That's another reason I tend to just go for a axle back as the conversion is done in 30 minutes if necessary.

I might do the same and swap before each inspection, but I'm afraid for cold starts, axlebacks are incredibly loud for the GR. Not okay for my neighbors at 7 in the morning.. :p

As far as I know there's no noise limit, it just needs to have all invironmental stuff so it won't be loud.
I agree, the cold start sound is obnoxious. I hope EcuTEK or someone else gets the ECU cracked open soon for a proper 100 octan N/A tune + Mapping without cold start.

Because of regulations for emissions.
It gets the necessary temperature in the catalysts faster than the normale idle Mode.

In some old cars with Euro 1 you could get kits for doing this cold starts to get Euro 2.
But the nasty noise and sometimes the wear aren't Worth this. Otherwise in some cars the Cold start is the best noise you can get :D

For Milltek, Certification seems aviable for the resonated versions. Link to Milltek.com for the black finish: Resonated (Quieter) Secondary Cat-Back Exhaust System with Ceramic Black Trims
That certificate you shared is for first gen GT86 / BRZ only.

No worries though, I'm sure there will be legal exhaust options available soon. (~ next 6 months I guess)
Unfortunately the GR86 may be less attractive for some companies due to the low quantity of sales all over europe.
(I don't have numbers but the GT86 chassis was sold for 8 years straight, where as the GR86 only gets 2 production runs.)
