I found this: https://spidersweb.pl/autoblog/mazda-modele-2023-zmiany/ (you can translate it from the Polish language). It looks like it's local, polish regulation. But at the same time, it doesn't seem to be an April fools' day joke :|
Unfortunately you are right, I was wrong. I just checked the mazda.pl site and found the same info regarding these models.
So Polish legislation seems even worse than EUSSR Idiocracy. 😧

Still couldn't figure out what's the difference between a legal DAB+ and an illegal DAB+ radio.

I thought DAB+ was “mandatory” for all cars in the EU for some time now… nevertheless how is this evaluated when registering a new car? Radio type is not specified in the COC and a new car also is not a subject of technical inspection. What about if you decide to unplug the infotainment? Or running after market?

I just see another shady marketing bullshit to boost declining sales. I have heard too many of these since Euro 6, DAB, “mandatory” stop start, mandatory this and that…

it seems it's dependent on the country.. but yes, It has been around for a while. Poland seems to be one of the last countries to implement the requirement.

Poland

From one dealer I've been told interesting fact - allegedly new BRZ as well as Toyota (same radio?) are not meeting past 1st of April DAB+ requirements in EU, so they won't be able to register any cars manufactured past that date - how certain this info is, can't tell, maybe someone can back this up, maybe dealer was screwing with me.

Regards,
Well, at least the German universal trim level of the Subaru BRZ INCLUDES a DAB+ radio as per the official spec sheet now available on Subaru Germany's website: . I have not yet seen a different (=worse) multimedia equipment and highly doubt Subaru will put worse equipment into the few Subaru BRZ for Poland if this results in them not being able to be registered in Poland very soon...

So I would bet on rumour or unfair Sales' tactics by the dealer trying to press a potential Buyer into the purchase...

By the way, for those capable of German language, the German BRZ webpages are online since ~2 weeks at Subaru BRZ - SUBARU Deutschland GmbH

Screw Toyota :whistle::LOL:?!?
yeah big time. I still like the GR86 more because of the looks and the 86 heritage. But i cant wait for my BRZ. Really hyped. Cant wait.
Lets wait and see how long it takes for my dealer to contact me 😁

so the new vehicles registration stats for February in Czechia are out.

Subaru BRZ - 11 cars registered in February! For comparison, there are only 10 registered GR86s in total. Even though the numbers are still low, Subaru has done a great job so far.
registration stats for Czechia in March:

Subaru BRZ - 22 pieces
Toyota GR86 - 1 piece (yes, one)

happy for you guys in the Czech Republic that you are able to get so many BRZs.
I think these numbers also indicate that discussions over which one is more popular are kinda pointless, as so much is dependent on whatever is available ..

Did a stopover on my way home. It's awesome in reallife! Much better than on pictures i have to say. Can't wait to pick it up in 7-14 days
In 2 days i have a 1800KM trip ahead of me through Germany. Too bad i can't take the car for that :)

Can someone share the picture of the BRZ "Premium" model, and the wheels it comes with? I wonder if it's the same shape as the GR86 but different color.
Thanks
exactly same wheels. Just different paint. Black on the GR86, Anthracite on the BRZ

Guys,
Just started calling to dealers in Poland.
40 cars are being shipped, delivery before June. We can start placing orders.
43,400 Euro for manual with paint. White is for 42,900. Auto is around 46k but I don't care, manual is the way to go.

I'm in touch with couple dealers right now, whoever get's first, will sell the car to me. Tables have turned :)

Official information is yet to be disclosed by Subaru for our country but by that time, I guess cars will be sold already.
