Borla UEL Headers and Borla Catback

I just installed some Borla UEL headers to go with my Borla catback. Both are from the 1st gen but fitment is fine.

I think it sounds great, and is just wanted the car needed. It completely changed the experience driving the car.

It's definitely louder than I was expecting, but it's not obnoxious. I may need to get some silencers for when I autocross because of the sound limits there.

Here's a short clip. I'll eventually get some cold starts, drive bys, etc...

I got one of these headers laying around from my FR-S. Did you tune your car after putting it on or does it run fine with no CEL without a tune? Do you notice any changes to the power delivery after install?
I didn't do a tune, but probably at some point. I made an 02 spacer with some sparkplug de-foulers and the CEL hasn't popped up after a few days of driving. Seems to be running perfectly fine.

I didn't really notice any power increase, but I was focusing more on the sound than the power when I did some pulls.

That sounds way better than any of the catback/axlebacks. No cats- does it stink?
It doesn't smell much more. It's really only noticeable on a cold start. I was worried about it because my last catless car was a Mustang, and it would leave me smelling like a tractor all day long. This is nothing like that. Plus it still has a cat in the front pipe

I was having a weird noise that would only happen when engine braking. I honestly thought it was an exhaust leak, but turns out that it the muffler was rubbing the driveshaft.

I think the issue was that the header flange to the over pipe sits a little bit higher, so once I installed the headers it lifted the catback just slightly. Since the muffler was already close to the driveshaft, it started rubbing.

I tried adjusting it, but couldn't get it anymore out of the way. I ended up just banging a dent in the muffler. I don't feel too bad about it since it was already ground down a little bit.

I got lucky because I'm sure it would have eventually caused a hole in the muffler. Hopefully it wont start leaking any time soon.
