Has anyone managed to get a reasonable sunshade that fits well? I’d be keen on the fit my car one but they don’t have anything for the current gen yet. I bought a generic bubble one from SCA which fits pretty poorly as temporary option, curious if anyone else here has had more luck.

I hopped into the car this afternoon. When driving I noticed the gearshift indicator, my yellow rev limit, the buzzer, turn by turn and the start up splash were all turned off. I definitely didn’t switch those functions off, it’s done it on its own overnight. All the features came back on when reselecting them. Just hope this glitch doesn’t happen too often.

How is the fit though? I think the shape of the windshield is a little different in the new gens.

nvm looks like these are somewhat generic in their fit and will fit both, will see if I can hunt down the front only version

If you have an auto, the Eyesight cameras are new, so check for fit.

I just use a generic shade I got from Repco (it is the correct height & width). It fits & works well. I just use the sunvisors to hold it & it sits under the mirror & cameras.

Yes, I did check the head unit version, it was version 580, which I think was already installed.

I was so close to getting those Subaru ones through Blackhawk but in the end, like @leigh couldn't justify the price. I like the captive tensioned cord style compared with the alternatives - the folding ones will just collapse under their own weight with the reach and the rake of the brz windscreen.

I've used Heatshield (Windshield Sun Shades, Car Window Shades and Car Window Covers by HeatShield: The Original Windshield Sun Shade) products on a few cars over the past ten years. Fitment and quality has been excellent each time. USD50 is great but their priority shipping option at USD84 hurts, so I use myus.com instead.

Also - RCC Tianjin is holding in Moreton Bay. Due for docking in a week (we'll see) but I'll finally get the red machine either side of Easter it looks like. Probably just after (hopefully before I go to Japan at the end of April) and I can't wait to start bolting on some parts!

I'm yet to see a colour it doesn't wear well! except for that ugly-ass 10th anniversary orange on the GR86

The colour options for the brz is definitely a hard choice. They all have something good in them, type of car you could own and rewrap a different colour each year because it works.

I think 0580 is the new headunit software version. I think the car had 0570 recently. The update may of cause me to lose the gearshift indicator and stuff. It’s hard to tell as there’s no date with the software numbering.

the gear shift indicator confuses me. It’s supposed to suggest when to change gears but mine always appears just after I changed.

I’ll have to check what version I’m on, only thing I’ve had updates for so far is the maps. Wonder if it could have happened due to the update being interrupted?
