Who in Australia has ordered the 2022 BRZ

I ordered mine as a manual in Magnetite Grey, with the dealer yesterday after sorting out the trade in.
I went for the Coupe as the "S" level only adds heated front seats and leather seats which to me was a waste of money.

Hi all, first post on this forum.
Ordered my car (BRZ) the end of August, had a phone call Tuesday saying mine is on the water.
The time frame I got is due in Adelaide the end of February. Looks like I'm waiting a bit longer than others.

Hi there, also an Adelaide member. So the ship could be the Beluga Ace, Polaris hwy or positive challenger. All three finish their voyages in mid to late February at the Adelaide port.
Cheers Timster
Just got my VF2 Redline ute renewal from RAA at $1032 pa😲
It is for work though. I was hoping $7-800 pa for the BRZ.
QBE might be a good alternative.
Agreed.
I discussed with my preferred repairer to determine which insurers allow them to perform the best quality repair & who they had a good relationship with.
After all, the most important aspect of insurance is how they perform & how they treat you if a claim arises.
Having said that, my insurer not only met my requirements but was also the cheapest quote I found - very happy with RAA.
I found this too, it's not you choosing a repairer, the good shops choose you and if your with the cheapies (youi)
the better repairers think it's too much trouble arguing about new and second hand parts or the time allocated to a fix.
Saying that, RAA have had a good rep! MB insurance also are worth a look.
Whoop should be hopefully taking delivery next week. Random q for those who had a test drive clause in their contract, did it involve you driving your actual car? I’ve already done a drive in the auto but apparently I’ll have another test drive in my car which is a manual prior to final delivery.
As I understand it, my actual car is the test driver. Jarvis West tce Adelaide only had an auto, so if I want to back out just say I'm not happy with the manual (which I won't be doing).
I also wasn't a Sapphire Blue fan to begin with but seriously wanted to change my colour to it, but was too late. Reason I went with Silver Though, is it looks great (if a little too predictable) against the black and grey accents and doesn't show chips and scratches as much when tracking it;).

Apparently mine is on Gentle leader and due in Adelaide around 15/2/23.
Has anyone brought touch up paint yet? I put ceramic hybrid spray on the car and got everything looking good. But it can’t stop a stone hitting the bonnet at 80kph. Its happened once today and I know it will again being on county roads a lot.
I have used Dr Colorchip on my 911, it's a different way to apply touch up paint but i prefer it, to traditional touch ups.
Not sure if they have all the BRZ colours(They have my ice silver) and there is a distributor in QLD.

Not sure if this happened to other SA owners, but mine (Late August 22 ordered) was unloaded from one ship (Gentle Leader) in Melbourne and
is waiting to be loaded onto another, (Eastern Hwy) for delivery to Adelaide. Seems a convoluted process when others, with later builds are now delivered.
Would be great to have it in time for the Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

Better news in Adelaide.
Eastern Highway has just unloaded at least 1 x 10th Anniv (hopefully mine!), 1 x Sapphire & I x Silver (that I can see - there may be more hidden from view).
Unfortunately they appear to all have yellow stickers on them, which I think means Quarrantine (but unsure if it means passed or yet to serve their time? Some other cars have a big red tick on the yellow sticker, but can't see the BRZ's well enough to see if they have the tick?)

The silver one is likely mine, after 9 months wait :(
Just saw this, hope there’s more than one silver BRZ there.

You can have it if not :), I stopped asking for updates even. Some US buyers mentioned that some dealers would sell "your order" to people who willing to pay markups.

Considering just stick to my gen1 and spend the money somewhere else.
For your sake, I hope that's not the case. Would be pissed if my order was up sold. Give your dealer a call and shake them up.
Thanks so much for the information! I just had a read of the ACL. Could you elaborate how a warranty then differs from the "minor failures" highlighted in the ACL? Minor failures seems to constitute a lot of the things I'd expect a warranty to cover, so what exactly is the purpose of a warranty then? Since the rejection period could outlive the warranty period and goes on until it is no longer reasonable that the parts should last this long etc.
No warranty covers consumables, such as brakes, tyres, clutch. The rest of the car would be covered under the factory warranty, provided services are done as recommended by service manual, and whether modifications (some) are fitted.
I wouldn't get extended warranty and as for detailing, touch-ups, do as GR86..... said. Use a paint less dent repairer( who the probably use anyway) when something inevitably happens. Not as expensive as you think.

2 weeks in with 500km on the clock, crashed by a friend, fxxk me. Hopefully the insurance will give it a write off.
Looks like a tree imprint. Wouldn't be happy with your friend.
Yeah, over steer through a corner on wet road and the hit the tree. hit on the side so air bag did not pop. On the insurance claim i stated i was the friend driving the car and given friends full detail, will that still affact my insurance premium in the following few years?
Yes, if you claim on insurance and pay the excess, that goes on your history. Doesn't matter who was driving. As long as other people are covered in your policy.
For anyone in Adelaide waiting for a car from the Eastern Highway that docked about 10 days ago, my car is arriving at the dealer today or tomorrow, so no quarrantine delays for this batch.
I received a message saying 5 to 10 working days on Monday. Enquired further and end of next week, probably! Jarvis West Tce.
For those waiting for their car in Adelaide, my BRZ is scheduled for hand over Tuesday. Either you have yours already, or it’s not far away.
Picked up mine yesterday arvo, first drive was up Glen Osmond rd to freeway, turn left to Mt Lofty then skirt the hills to Newton through Montacute. Will take a while to get accustomed to the throttle hang but a good drive to start, with many to come.

You talking about the rev hang when upshift or something else? I found the gas pedal is less linear compared to the old gen, as in, between 1k-2k it goes nowhere that's how I feel anyway.

Twins indeed,

Yeah, seems like a slight rev hang when clutching and changing gears. (Revs taking a while to drop). Thinking of getting a Pedal commander like thetopher used on his YouTube channel. Not a huge problem but having good control points like throttle, clutch, steering and braking make these cars nicer to drive.
Compared with a gen1 86 back to back, same pressure on the pedal the old gen was around 2k rpm when the new BRZ barely moved. Same deal when rev matching, "tap" is not enough now.

But yeah, I feel Im a lot smoother with the ZD8 just need time to adjust muscle memories.
From what I've read, the Gr86 has a different throttle map to the new BRZ and is better calibrated at the initial tip[ in, and is less doughy. Getting the pedal set up for heel toeing and a throttle controller to change the pedal calibration, is my first mod. Fun little car to enjoy in the hills though!
