I've ordered nearly the same spec as yours - manual, Magnetite Grey. I went with the Coupe S though, I agree that it's a waste of money for the heated seats (especially in Australia), but I wanted the leather.

For extras, I got the front under spoiler, side under, rear under, fender air garnish and the rear under diffuser - none of which I expect to add any real performance, but I got them mostly for the contrasting black against grey.

Talked to the rep from Subaru today and asked for a rough ETA, she reckons end of Q2 next year at the latest, which tbh with all the chip shortages and supply chain issues is basically what I expected.

I went standard as I figured I could add stuff later and didn't want anything to delay the car.

Did you order online or actual contract? My contract has an "ETA" of January 31.
Since they don't want many more kms on my trade, I suspect they might juggle deliveries to suit themselves especially since afaik Trivett owns pretty much all the Sydney Subaru dealerships.

Yeah, I definitely get that. From everything I've seen on youtube, the coupe seems like a great basis for additions down the track. I'm in two minds about keeping the stock wheels, or changing them out and keeping the stock for track days. Not sure yet.

I'm hoping the additions don't blow out waiting time, but I'll keep you posted as I get updates. It'll be interesting to see the roll out for pre-orders and when everyone starts to take delivery.

I just did it all online, including the contract, but had a rep call me today to confirm. No ETA listed in the contract specifically, so the online contract seems to be a little more general - which is great info for anyone who comes along this thread and is thinking of pre-ordering.

Makes sense with the trade in. On the phone, the rep did say that all pre-orders were going through Subaru Australia, and that the dealer was just responsible for delivery and rego, so that difference will be interesting too.

What mods are you thinking when you get it?

Ordered mine with a dealer by midday on the same day Subaru Australia announced that pre-orders were open.
I went for the Coupe S in Ice Silver as was only a slight bump in $$$ and wasn't entirely sure what the S spec would be. Don't mind that is appears to be just the seating (looks like we only get the 6 speaker stereo regardless) but I actually use the heated seats in my current car in winter so that's something......

No idea when delivery might be but I think I maybe got into the first 500?

Did you get your signed contract back? If so, what estimated delivery date did they put?

Also, have you guys received an email from Subaru tell you they would notify you once your car is in production?

Yep, have a copy of my signed contract, but doesn't have a delivery date on it....unsurprisingly .

Also got the email from Subaru saying they had the order from the dealer, that "I was one of the lucky few to secure an all-new 2022 Subaru BRZ" and that yes, they would notify me once the car is in production.

Would be interesting to know how the car has been received and how many pre-orders Subaru Australia have been able to secure so far?

Yeah, would be nice to know their actual numbers ordered. Would also like to know how many they can make in a month. I recall reading somewhere they were producing them in November and dealers getting demo cars in December?
I'm hoping mine is up the list since they don't want miles on my trade.

I loved the ice silver too, good choice on that.

Thought you guys would like to know I saw the BRZ advertised on a billboard in inner city Brisbane today, so hopefully that means they're ready to ramp up production and get some traction going with orders.

But yeah, haven't heard anything yet from Subaru past the initial contract confirmation, was told that I'll be getting emails when they start producing/shipping my build.

I doubt they are wasting their money on billboards in Sydney yet since half of us can't go out anywhere to see them LOL

I was tossing up between the Ice Silver and the Magnetite Grey but went with the Magnetite after talking to the dealer. He said the Silver was a b*tch to ever match if needed.

I am interested to see what versions Toyota comes out with. I had the MY15 GTS 86 in Red and loved it but decided to go with the BRZ this time as I couldn't wait for Toyota to decide what they are doing. I suspect they will be about 3 months behind Subaru.

The Magnetite definitely looks good too, would have considered it except we have had a dark grey metallic car in the family for a few years and wanted something different.

If I didn't go for the silver would probably have gone for the red or white (although not usually a white car person I think looks good in the BRZ).

I deposited in Feb, the dealer called me to lock in my exact spec and colour on the 6th September (pre-orders went live on the 7th IIRC).

I went for the classic WR Blue Pearl, Manual, Coupe S.

The BIGGEST surprise was definitely the strength of the bottom 'Coupe' spec. It was absolutely 0 different apart from the leather & alcantara front and rear seats, and the front seat heaters. Literally not a single other thing. Potentially the badge might be different! lol.

I didn't think too hard though as I'm ok paying 1250 for the front and back seats, and I thought the fabric was a bit plain, so a worthy upgrade for the money. Now if they had those GR86 fabric seats, there is no way I would of gone top. I really like the detail in them.

ETA wise, dealer said Dec/Jan for first batch. It would be nice to be able to pick it up around Christmas, but who knows.

I hear ya! I would love to see it magically appear in December, but I think that would be a miracle for us. I think December is the "test drive" cars for each dealer from last I read somewhere in WR Blue.

Yeah that's right. My dealer still hasn't got the build number on the demo car, so its still up in the air. When they get that it will be basically ~2 weeks to build then potentially a month for miscellaneous fitout, transport, then dock and dealer installs.

Appears there may be a viewing event with Subaru for the new BRZ at the end of next week in Brisbane (City Subaru)?
Wonder if this is QLD only or may pop up in other states soon?
