I’ve seen a couple of used Supras listed on the different car-selling websites and one local dealership. They are priced the same as a new one, including one with 1200 miles. Why would anyone buy a used one for the same price as a new one?

Here in Utah I've seen two used for sale and they are selling for a thousand or two less then what they were selling for new, one is selling for 48 thousand and the other is 50. This is pretty normal for toyotas to retain 90% of their value especially for only being a year old.

I would also expect the prices to drop slightly for these used ones with the 2021 new ones coming in soon. My local dealers all say they will have the 2021 3.0s in by early fall. I wouldn't expect the prices to drop a ton though I would say for one thats not wrecked the lowest you could probably find would be 45 to 46.

Honestly, I think it's just nostalgia.

The old one isn't anywhere nearly as good as the new one. (Not a popular opinion... I know)

Well, considering how expensive they are, I'm gonna wait for the GR86. If I bought a Supra, I'd go with the 2.0. I really don't need 6 cylinders. When the first Supra came out, I went to a local dealer to look at the 86, and the Supra. They had the Supra marked up to $100k. I asked them why it was so much more than the sticker. They said, because they were the only local dealer to have one. They also had the 86 marked up.

Gross that they had the 86 marked up. I can't blame any dealer for marking up a brand new model that's in hot demand. I mean... I hate that they do it... but supply-and-demand...

Frankly, I'm of the opinion you should always go full-out. So I'd be going for the six if I were looking at a Supra

They're definitely trying to capitalize on the last bit of hype/nostalgia. If it's the exact same price I'm going with the new car.
