Toyota GR86 Release Date

So, we now know that the car is expected to arrive in summer of 2021. Does anyone have more info on the Toyota GR86 release date?

I heard a rumor of June, but curious if there's more info than that.... it's probably too early.

Any thoughts on a concept car debut? Or what auto show it might first be shown at? Maybe the Tokyo Motor Show near the end of the year. Or could Toyota do something around the Detroit Auto Show that's supposed to happen this summer?

According to Car Magazine the release date should be July 2021.

Toyota announced in a new press release that the GR86 will arrive at dealers in November 2021.

The 2022 GR 86 will start at under $30,000; exact pricing will be shared prior to its expected arrival at Toyota dealerships in November 2021.

When can I start putting money down?

technically, that would depend on the dealer I guess. A dealer can take a "reservation" and a deposit for anything they want - but as far as paying a true payment on a placed order... I don't know. the day they let me officially place the order, I will post up here

Even some automotive journalists are wondering why Toyota is being so tight-lipped, considering that more info is available on the BRZ.
Just wanted to update this thread with the GR86 on-sale date of December this year.

As per the official release
I placed a $500 deposit to reserve a GR86 premium at my local dealership in April. I was told to sit tight and that I may not get the vehicle until September and that it would likely be a 2023 model year. All local Toyota dealers have stated a 5-8 month wait time. Would it make sense to reserve a vehicle at the other local dealerships? Or, are the cars pulled from the same allocation at the port when they are shipped here?
