What are some available options for tires for the stock 18” wheels on a premium 86? How has availability been? With some tire sizes on other cars I’ve found it hard to source (like 20” RE71 eg). How many track days are people getting out of the tires? (I’m 100% stock other than brake pads/fluid) I have 3 days coming up in October with the stock tires - wondering if I need to order some backup tires just in case.
for reference I had a good time with BFG rivals on a NA Miata. I love RE71, I don’t like Michelin sport cup 2 that much. I prefer Dunlop Maxx race2 to the PSC2 and that’s all I have experience with so far - not sure what is commonly available for brz/86. My goal is to consistently get up to the limit and to figure out how to ride that limit on track so it’s ok if the limit isn’t so high. I think something that gives up progressively and predictably is preferred.
