I got a VON but my sales rep never gave me a VIN. Delivery date was spot on though (early in fact). I was told December ETA originally and it came the last week of November. Subaru has been pretty good with delivery estimates, at the very least if it was delayed your sales rep should've told you. If you are worried, call your dealer.

I'm in the same boat. I called the last week of November, and the sales representative told me to expect a VIN to be assigned within a week or two. Now December is half over and still no news. At this point I figure it's going to be sometime in January. (Maybe).

That’s why I’m asking. January hits and I don’t have my car I need my deposit back. Not because January is an unacceptable wait, but because at that point who knows when it’ll get here. Whose to say they say it’ll come in Jan but then they push it back to February?

If that is what you're worried about, call Subaru of America and explain the situation. They have pretty good customer service and will keep your rep in check.

I already tried that they gave me the run around and told me to keep asking my sales guy/dealer.

Just asked for an update from my sales rep and now he’s saying expect January since he has no new info since I last asked (November). Gonna call SOA again tomorrow and hopefully get some answer’s because the lack of information is unacceptable at this point.

Let us know how it goes! Local dealer was hoping orders would be opened in December, and then defaulted to January when it wasn't. Called Subaru VIP who thought it might be February at earliest, but not sure if that was just speculation.

In New York. I ordered an Ice Silver Limited Manual on June 7th, 2022 when they reopened orders but for 2023 MY. Pretty much had no idea when it would arrive. In Oct or so they said mid-December but it wasn't on the truck this month and should arrive mid-January. I turned down a black one on Monday but they have a WRB Limited 6MT that I am going to look at tomorrow. Also turned down a black GR86 in September. Placed refundable deposits in April/June 2022 on both GR and BRZ with the intention of taking whichever came first.

Went to look at WR Blue car and decided to wait for my Ice Silver car that should arrive in ~3wks. This gives me time to get my current cars ready for trade and takes away some stress. I did drive it around the lot and play with the settings. Did not like the door scuff protectors that this person optioned, mostly how they are installed with double sided tape and the alignment on door card wasn't great. Could not see the footwell lighting during the day but I assume it was installed. Dealer said their financing fell through. This car was also VIN etched and I talked my way out of that cash grab back when ordering in June. Can't wait tho! Made me miss my Gen 1 BRZ even more

After thinking about it for a while, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the BRZ MT WRB Sport Tech version (Canada) and it should be arriving in late march to early April. Really excited about it as it would be my first sports car.

New here, I'm very frustrating at this point. Order my Brz back on July 29th. Got my so# and date of delivery of end of December on August 12th. I was the first at the dealer to order a 23 brz, by October there was three people with orders behind me. The next inline got there car back in February. Every month mine keeps getting pushed, it's to April now. Mines a limited manual. The dealer as not gotten any answers to why and they reached out to there rep. I'm in NY, with no answers either. I called SOM and they said they can't help and I needed a 9 digit order number to track anything. I did not get that. Did anybody else get that number? It seems to me after seeing people on here wait time, It's taking away to long.

does the dealer not have that number? i know for SOA they give out whats called a VON. not sure if thats equivilant to your SO# or not

This all happened yesterday. Emailed my sale guy to see if they had that number. No word back yet. I believe the woman at som said she needed the order number then went on to call it a von number. The so# is on my order slip I got back in August. Gives me all my info. Dealers info, car info and that subaru Accepted my order.

Sorry you are going through this. I am also in NY and going through the EXACT same thing! But I've been waiting even longer. I ordered a 2022 on Jan 6th 2022, and it keeps getting pushed. A week or two ago they told me April now (it got pushed at least 5X). I got fed up waiting, so I put a deposit on a GR86 as well, That one has a VIN, and is trackable (on the ship now), so it should be at the dealer in about a month. At this point, I am just going to grab the first car that arrives.
After several calls to the dealer as well as SOA, I finally realized why I'm having these issues. Apparently, NY as well as the New England area goes through a distributorship for their orders, unlike the rest of the country that orders directly from SOA. Therefore, no order #'s are given to us, no VIN's, and no (real) ETA. The cars just seem to show up randomly out of nowhere. The dealer told me that the color red seems to be a problem for my car (apparently the factory ran out of red paint, lol, wtf) so I gave charcoal and silver as acceptable colors as well. This car purchase is basically a joke at this point! I have purchased dozens of cars in the past 37 years and NEVER saw anything like this!

Ya thanks for the info and sorry for ur wait time. This is crazy with subaru. Pretty much they do not do factory orders in ny,nj,CT is what im getting. Its like toyota with the wait list. I was looking in March last year. Subaru closed the ordering and I went to get a gr86. Most dealers wanted u to live in the state or zip code to get on the list. Or crazy markups!!. The toyota next to me has a white prem. Manal coming in with 2k dealer add ons plus 3k markups. So 5k if u want it now.

Haha I see lot of gr86s coming in red. I drove an auto last spring.

I just got a email from my dealer. The rep said this.

We were hoping for more BRZ this month, but only received 20.
Only 1 was a PZE-11 in ISM and it was assigned to an older order 117988.
So for our entire region NY, NJ and some of CT which is probably close to 30+ dealers - received only one of your exact builds (PZE-11 ISM) and I bet that was the one Brewster ordered. Only 20 BRZs in total were made for this entire region.

They are working thru them but unfortunately there were earlier orders ahead of yours.
