I think that might because (I'm guessing here) that toyota and subaru share the same production factory, and there's alot of demand for the gr86, but I feel that more and more people are getting sick and tired of waiting and all the outrageous mark ups. Sooner or later there gonna be a ton of gr86s with no buyers because of toyota stupidity not reeling in their dealers.
I usually am to lazy to send a message to corp but I did. They just told me they aren't in control of their dealers people contact their customer relations.
I ended up writing a review on Google for the dealership i once bought 3-4 cars from and gave them a one star review( they were the lasts one i talked to about thw gr86 fIrst thing the salesman said was 10k mark up).
I swear every mananger from every department tried to get into contact with me. Lol i just ignored them.
I u do understand they are trying to make money and if it's 2-3k more I wouldn't mine all that much I was actually ok with 5k at one point....but 10k is just out of control plus the addons they refuse to remove. Then later I though wait if they replace the 18 with the 17" rims I should get both sets of tires and rims since it comes with 18 and they obviously didn't subtract the cost of the 18" . Yea I was boiling at that point, oh I did tell them what I wanted when they told me they had an allocation a month prior.
50k with taxes and fees ..I think I'd rather get bmw m2 for that price esp since this islast time bmw is making a manual transmission. Ugh I hate combining, if I mention this again please tell me to shut up, heh .
Yeah, when I first started looking it was for a GR86 and then the Toyota Dealer BS started, I looked into the BRZ and it was easy, they responded, Subaru Australia took my deposit for one of the 10th Anniversary models.
I booked test drives of both vehicles, although both were A/T. I drove them on the same stretch of freeway. In my view the GR86 had more road noise coming in the back end, maybe I imagined that, but it could also be that different suspension set up? Subaru just handed me the keys and told me to bring it back in about 30 minutes, Toyota wouldn't let me drive it without a sales rep coming along.
I'm glad I chose the Subi, although I still have a ticket in the ballot for the GR, I liked the look of the GR better in photos but in the flesh, I prefer the Subi front end. My initial order included all the stick-on bits, but I've now decided not to do this. I would like that GR duckbill spoiler though, I'm sure it would fit just the same on the Subi?
