Ordered: October 5th 2022
Delivered: March 17th 2023

Ya'll, I think I've got the luck of the Irish! My BRZ was delivered a few days early!

So far I have put 41 Miles on it (mostly back roads) and I can already report its hands down my favorite car I've owned. I like it even more than my dad's C8 Corvette. This is exactly what I wanted in a car! The shifter reminds me of my Miata but newer, the ride quality is great, the chassis is stiff, the engine reminds me of my Subaru BRAT which I love! The seats are perfect the color is gorgeous in person I have no complaints. I guess I'm biased now but whatever. I'm really happy ya'll! Good luck to everyone else on their BRZ/GR86 journey it is worth it!

Nope. Ordered 12/15/22. ETA late April - early May so it should be ballpark of OPs wait time. We'll see if it gets pushed back.
Good luck man, it's going to perfectly drop in your life. I am super impulsive myself, the longest 3 months of my life. Are there any more still in front of you or are you first on list?

No lists with Subaru, thankfully. You can actually order a car with them, just have to find a dealer that can/will order you a BRZ. A lot more straightforward, and you can get exactly what you want (trim/color/trans/options) versus sifting through whatever Toyota decides to send over.

(Sorry OP, didn't mean to hijack)

I asked my Subaru dealer today "what would you do if 10 people called in right now and placed BRZ orders?" He said they would be able to place orders for them. You just need to wait the lead time. Subaru is 10x easier to deal with right now than Toyota. Toyota's allocation system is weird in my opinion.

That's interesting. Even though Subaru does custom orders, each dealer only gets X number of BRZ slots (per year/quarter/month?). My local dealer couldn't order one. I had to order from a dealer 2 hours away. Right after he put my order in he tried to put in another just for shits and giggles and he couldn't.

Not saying your dealer is wrong though. I don't know what the limits are. If it's a big dealer that hasn't sold many BRZs maybe they have a lot of open slots. 🤷‍♂️

I was just chatting back and forth with my Sales guy that was the answer he gave. He definitely could have been wrong I'd take that with a grain of salt!

Congrats, what are your thoughts compared to the Miata?
I'll have a better idea once the BRZ is broken in but it's already significantly quicker. The driver inputs (steering, shifter, clutch) are surprisingly similar but feel a bit lighter and more modern. The chassis is WAY stiffer so it soakes up bumps.

There are definitely ways you can compare the two but the BRZ is already feeling like a massive upgrade. But the Miata is 33 years old and I'm it's mechanic, so we can cut Pilaf some slack.

Looking forward to your opinion. I used to have a 2010 NC Miata, now looking to get into one of the twins. The things I hear are that the Miata (ND miata atleast) feels lighter and more fun at city speeds. That and nicer engine note.
