Dealer and factory PPF's are nowhere near the same quality as a shop that specialize in that sort of thing. I think it's a case of you get what you pay for. My dealer was offering a "PPF" for $300 when a shop wants 1,800 to do the same thing. I bet your dealer one takes off paint when you remove it and doesn't last more than a year before the paint chips.

 

Yeah, the PPF I got on mine was a tad bit over $2,000. This is port-installed PPF, so the dealership isn't involved. I hope the port doesn't f*ck up my paint. At Porsche, we had a 911 delivered with factory-installed PPF, and the paint was terrible.

My dealer sent the car to an outside shop for PPF. Zero complaints about the job.

 

See if they can’t remove the PPF before it gets to port. My dealer got all the PIO removed.

 

I'll try and see, I'll let you know what they say. I really don't want the cheap PPF and would rather replace it with quality PPF instead.

 

I got my PPF installed at my friends shop which also happened to be where my dealer would have taken it had I opted for it. But yeah if its installed at the port I wouldnt have high hopes.

 

I'm going to try and see if they can get it removed, hopefully they can do it and switch it out with something else

 

There isn't really much on the PIO. Not worth the hassle to get it deleted. The PPF isn't on the front bumper, which is where you need it most. That's what I find odd.

 

Yeah... that and the headlights is what should be optioned. I'm spending a big penny on getting PPF done at a shop local to me. Out of all the cars that have other options... mine came with PPF lol

 

The factory ppf doesn't wrap around edges so its pretty noticeable. Congrats on the allocation! The more I see this car the more the color grows on me. It's so tempting.

As a new 2024 owner, dont get the ppf trust me. it doesnt do crap. Take it out and have it ceramic done by a detailer

 

If you're not going to mod your car, the gr exhaust is dope. Subwoofer is nice if you like eurobeat and etc. Skip out on the cable if you can. Make sure not to buy weatherproof addons because the hakone should already come included with one.

 

With patience and perseverance I finally got a Hakone edition today. I’m super excited. It seems the soldier that ordered it had two lined up and the other came in first. So I was next in line. I’m super excited! Mine will be an automatic but I’m actually ok with that. I’ll send pics when I take possession in a week or so.

 

Congrats! After being on QC hold for I don't know how long, it is coming next week. Fingers crossed!
