As a big Reddit user, I've found r/GR86 is pretty bad but I do try to help people who ask a specific question I have experience with. With that said, every car also has good and "bad" owners/forum members/subreddits etc.
Due to the entry point, these cars are naturally going to attract younger buyers who maybe don't have their finances sorted out (something that kills me to read on r/GR86), make questionable modifications, or in general, aren't as knowledgeable as maybe we would like. We need to think long term - we've all made stupid car related decisions, but eventually some of these kids are going to be us one day and will be a source of knowledge. We can laugh at their inexperience now, but none of us should let this detract from the experience of these great cars. At the track, the community surrounding our cars is easily one of the most knowledgeable and friendly due to that low entry point.
There isn't greener grass with other cars. Try having a conversation with someone who has a superiority complex because they have an air-cooled 911 which is the "how god intended it", or they have a 997.2 the last "pure" 911, or how the "correct" way to spec a Carrera T is. That stuff is infuriating.
