Oil Leak and Dealership Nightmare

Something I was told by my subaru dealer that you might try.....
If the dealership you used is a large name dealer network that sells and services many brands, there is a way to get your Toyota serviced at Subaru, where it will be fixed by someone who actually knows what they are looking at. If the dealership owns both a Toyota and Subaru location, they can perform the work at the Subie location, but write it up through Toyota for warranty coverage. In the end the dealer network makes the same amount of money it just goes to loaction B instead of location A. Im sure the manufacturers would hate to hear about such a thing, but it turns out it is quite common these days with all the platform sharing, especially with Toyotas. There is a whole bunch of Subaru, BMW, Mazda going on in them that the Toyota techs fail to service well.

yea mine sprayed. got some on the wheels and smoke because it got onto the headers. just glad i always look in the bay daily. woulda suck for someone who doesn't notice the tell-tale signs
No. You are supposed to be oblivious. Stretch out your service intervals to the max and never open the hood. Only bring it to the dealer when the owners manual says to because.... You are dumb and engineers know best.

I agree - if your time isn't worth anything, looking under the hood twice a day is the way to go.
20 seconds of my time isnt going to compromise anything. Wont cost me money. Wont make me late. Wont make the wife mad. Lets be honest here. 20 seconds of your time is pretty worthless in all reality too. Lets not pretend that the world is on your shoulders. I could see if we are talking about DIY maintenance or something of a significant amount of time. Seconds, we are talking about seconds. You think far too highly of yourself if you think a few seconds a month is going to have any impact on absolutely anything.
Justify it however you like. Pretending there is no issue and thinking "It wont happen to me" only goes so far for so long.
Use case makes a huge difference as well. Most of us bought a sports car to drive it like a sports car. For those who dont treat the car like driving an Uber with the Pope in the backseat, this stuff matters.
Idk why im even still typing. Your time is clearly too important to even take the time to read it. Why come to a forum to discuss anything? Just follow the manual, drive the speed limit and the world will be filled with rainbows and unicorns.
