Im not sure what the advantage is supposed to be, honestly. Air looks to be taken from the same source and just passed through a larger filter. There was a dyno done recently showing power gains from removing the charcoal pad, but not from removing the filter entirely or even keeping the box wide open. Without finding a new source of significantly cooler air, I think almost all other intakes I have seen are purely cosmetic or for enhanced sound.
