2022 Toyota GR 86 Pros and Cons Review: Sharper Than Ever
Everything we liked about the old car, with none of the stuff we didn’t.

The nasty torque dip found in every iteration of the 86/BRZ is gone, replaced with genuine midrange acceleration that's on par with the message the sporty exterior sells. "Finally, a responsive engine that makes linear power throughout its rev band," features editor Christian Seabaugh said. The numbers don't lie: The bright red 2022 GR 86's 5.8-second 0-60 run tore a full second off the best run managed by the prior generation.

Forget the speed; the car is more engaging and rewarding to drive than ever before. "Such a phenomenal, fun-to-drive driver's car," Seabaugh said. "Precise, quick, light steering, a great transmission that's rewarding to run through, good clutch feel, excellent brakes, and a composed, compliant ride that isn't too stiff or too soft." In short: What a hoot.

Man they didn't really cover a lot of ground with that summary. One would think the car deserves more from a site like Motor Trend.
