Yes, bumpstop travel is already been set by them hence the lower parr of the assembly shouldn't be adjusted (unless you know exactly what you are doing)
Oh yeah, I forgot to add that. Lots of warnings in red not to adjust via the bottom mount as this has been pre set for the car.

Seems like MCA really thought about their products before selling them.

More American companies should make their products with such high degrees. We often get rebranded BC or Silver coilovers from these obscured companies. Then we left with correcting all the mal geometries ourselves.... what a shame.

I know it doesn't help with your own decisions, but after a fair bit of consideration I've ordered the MCA Pro Streets for my BRZ.

I reckon it will be the best 'all round' setup for the type of driving I do.

Looking forward to having them fitted in a couple weeks.

Will report back then :)

Cheers,

Jules Mac.

Going in today.
I just finished installing the front coilovers. All went well, though it ended up taking longer than I thought:rolleyes: because I was learning as I went.
The only snag was that the large bolts/nuts supplied to connect to the front knuckle are 22mm and I only had up to 19mm sockets and spanners - didn't anticipate they'd be bigger than stock. So I had to just tighten with adjustable wrenches. I'll have to go get the 22mm socket and then torque to spec.
Interestingly when I removed the top knuckle bolts on both OEM struts they were not very tight (out of torque spec?) - these had been done up by a garage that fitted my STI springs. The old bolts were also scuffed up, like they'd used the wrong size socket or something. Kinda glad I'm doing it myself.
FWIW the front coilover height as supplied by MCA seems about the same as with my STI springs, so I may adjust that after doing a short drive and re-checking.

Now got to get going on the rear.

Edit: Corrected the knuckle bolt head/nut size to 22mm so as not to mislead.

Murphy's Law says it's always the socket/wrench size you don't have...

Good to see that you're making progress though.

Finished up the rear install of the Pro Streets.
I didn't do any height adjustment, just installed the coilovers as they were supplied. The height finished up very close to the STI springs on the OEM struts - so I will be dropping it another 10-15mm. I'll do that adjustment tomorrow - have to torque those front knuckle bolts anyway.;)
The ride actually seems a bit better than the STI/OEM strut combo - that's on the 'comfort' setting they came with (10 clicks front and rear towards 'soft').

How's the setup going so far?

Any issues with fitment/rubbing?
I dropped the spring perches 15mm this morning. When the car was back on the garage floor I checked the height and it only seemed to drop a bit over 10mm, but I guess it may settle a bit more.
Nil issues with fitment/rubbing or any scraping on the speed humps etc I've encountered today - but I've only driven to the shops a couple of times. My overall drop is only in the 20-25mm range, so I don't really anticipate any issues.
Still yet to play with the damping and I'll get a wheel alignment at some stage but the car drives fine.

Oh, and those '20mm' nuts on the strut/knuckle are actually 22mm when I rechecked with the vernier.

Good to hear - sounds like you've got it dialled in okay 👌

How did your install go? What ride height did you go for?
Install was done by a trusted workshop in Melbourne - can't fault anything so far but only driven about 20 kms home in fairly heavy traffic. Certainly a stiffer ride than stock but completely expected. Didn't get into settings too much - told them what I wanted and left them to make the decisions. They're happy for me to drop back if there are any issues or adjustments required. I think the drop was around 25mm front and 20mm (or just over) rear.

Looks great. Appears you dropped right down to fender level - that wouldn't be practical for me (daily, steep d/w etc).
Wouldn't you get rubbing/crashing with the wheel spacers putting the rear tyre outside the fender?
Haven't had any dramas so far with all the usual suspect bumps/driveways I come across on my drive home. Definitely aware of it though and am cautious until I get more seat time. I suspect there may be rubbing at the rear in some of the bigger undulations at higher speeds but time will tell.

It looks amazing, 235/40 fits the best on stock-ish setup
There are 2 damper settings recommend in their owner manual. I would start from there and slowly tweet them to your liking. Record your settings and thoughts somewhere everytime you drive it on familiar roads or make changes, it's a fun process to dial it in I found 😉
