I think it’s good that he straight up said both are equal as far as fun and doesn’t go into what type of driver should drive the BRZ or 86.
He’s also a great dude, mainly made the video because people wanted English subtitles of his impressions!lol

Of course translating Japanese to English is not completely straight forward. However what he seems to be implying is that the BRZ understeers more than than the GR86 but has a a more solid feeling front end when turning in. Further he feels that both new models are more refined then version one of the BRZ/86. He mentions that it is more on a Lexus level of refinement. One could gather that this is probably due to the extra chassis stiffness on this updated platform. Also while he seems to prefer the BRZ he is not saying its better than the GR86. Rather that it suits him better the way he drives. So what does this mean. I would suspect that you would get a different opinion from a different professional driver. Also it seems to confirm that because the BRZ has a softer rear and a firmer front it is promoting more under-steer and more stabilty. The 86 has a firmer rear and softer front promoting more over-steer and slightly more agility. So picking between them really gets down to your ability and your driving style. So historically this was the similar difference between version #one of the BRZ/86. For the average driver it will not make much of a difference. Choosing between the 2 gets down to styling preference for most people.

sonnycrokett33-The only reason I some what understood was because the video had English subtitles. I don't understand a word of Japanese either. However, in the translation to English subtitles there seem to be roughly 3 to 4 words to describe understeer and oversteer.
