Is there some protocol for jacking the car while protecting the underside's jacking point? I recall on my old Miata, it was suggested that, if using a hydraulic "race jack" (which I have), to protect the flange under the car via a hockey puck with a slot cut in it. I did that. (and before I sold the car, it apparently stuck to the underside of the car, as it disappeared
) If there's something to be bought -- or made -- it seems wise to ask now and not at the first instance of jacking.
