TBH I would love a hybrid powertrain. Any performance hybrid is an absolute rocket (NSX, BMW ActiveHybrid3, new C63 AMG, etc)

It would be great if they used an actual performance auto. This car could really benefit from a ZF8.

Especially since there's a ZF8 configuration that has a 150ft-lb electric motor in the torque converter...

It is nothing more than a fan made render. I can guarantee that Toyota is not even close to putting a budget together to develop the next 86. They have a small team that will work on difference between the years, but I doubt they are rendering next gen 86.

Also the quality is pretty low, and most actual renders don't look like they are made of different parts Photoshopped together.

The 2nd generation Toyota GR86 and its Subaru clone, the BRZ, were introduced just a year ago. And we already have an illustration guess of what the next one could look like. (This was sent to me as “Toyota GR86”). Specs would include a new Hybrid powertrain that includes a 1.6 Liter 3 Cylinder engine. This next generation is expected to be the last ICE model for the GR86/BRZ. Which seems pretty obvious.

The illustration does remind me a lot of the 5th-generation Toyota Celica. So maybe this is some new model? Is there really any room for another Toyota Coupe under the GR86???

I've never been a fan of the split headlights where the top portion function as LED/ DTRL's and the bottom section of the headlamps hang in purgatory between fog lights and head lights. It makes the front end look more mainstream than it does sporty IMO.
