Apparently the latest round of test cars are fitted with an intercooler, so we know for sure now that a turbocharged engine is coming! Pretty exciting!

The question is, will the base model remain NA?

IMO, base will remain NA because the current version price from $29k already offers enough. There are many things Subaru can do to improve performance without going forced induction. 10-15+ HP/TQ bump, improved power to weight ratio, suspension, drivetrain, etc.

I won't mind paying $4,000-6,000 more for a high performing turbocharged BRZ STi

This is what I am hoping for, have the base NA, have a premium NA then have the premium turbo. They could totally do it and make a killing. The only thing would be Toyota might be hard pressed to do it due to not wanting to step on the toes of the supra 2.0 but pending on how much they still may do it. I am still somewhat hopeful but its not a huge deal breaker. I am just excited for any new news.
