Japan's Best Car is reporting that the next generation Civic Type-R will repurpose the current model's turbocharged two-liter engine and produce 395 horsepower (currently 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque).
The boost in power will come from a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive layout with an electric motor on each rear wheel. It's similar to the Acura NSX's system but on the rear axle instead of the front.
