No, you have the size right but the tire is actually this one:These are the exact tires included with the GT86/86/FR-S:
PILOT SPORT 4S - SIZE: 215/45ZR17
Max Performance Summer
The BRZ on the 18 inch wheels have at least one spec confirmed to be running on PS4 - very good all round tire, SO MUCH better than the primacy.Anyone have more info on these tires?
What does the first gen run? I always thought the original 86 had some crappy tires. PS4s seem like some serious rubber.
Not sure.there will be different wheel/tire options? i thought they'll all come with 215/40/18 michelin ps4 standard... at least in japan
I wish they just used those tires on the car they debuted instead of teasing the Pilot Sports. No, you have the size right but the tire is actually this one:
Michelin primacy HP
Grand Touring Summer, not Max performance, It has way less grip than the PS4S

They are using the Pilot Sports - on these 18 inch specs anyway. The primacy tire was last gen.I wish they just used those tires on the car they debuted instead of teasing the Pilot Sports.
I would like to point out to everybody, that the PS4S (Pilot Sport 4S) and PS4 (Pilot Sport 4) are two different tires. My bet is that the Base/Premium gets 17" primacies, and the GT/Limited gets 18" PS4Ss.
Very true, I thought the Subaru event mentioned PS4S, but it's PS4:I would like to point out to everybody, that the PS4S (Pilot Sport 4S) and PS4 (Pilot Sport 4) are two different tires.
The wheels should be 18x7.5 +48 5x100 with a tire size of 215/40.I don’t know a lot about the different numbers related to wheels. I’m getting the GR86 Premium, so I know they are 18s. What are the other numbers? Will a set of 18x8.5 +45mm be too big?
Thanks. What do those numbers mean? The wheels should be 18x7.5 +48 5x100 with a tire size of 215/40.
Okay, so the 18x7.5 refers to the wheel size and width, +48 is the offset, 5x100 is the PCD (or bolt pattern), 215/45 is the tire width and aspect ratio.Thanks. What do those numbers mean?
Thank you. So the wheels I was looking at are too big.Okay, so the 18x7.5 refers to the wheel size and width, +48 is the offset, 5x100 is the PCD (or bolt pattern), 215/45 is the tire width and aspect ratio.
It depends, they’re wider than the stock size but that doesn’t mean they won’t fit on the car. Plenty of people run 17x9s with as low as +35 or even as high as +45 offsets so those wheels you’re looking at could very likely fit; it just depends on your preferences and what you’re intending to do with the car.Thank you. So the wheels I was looking at are too big.
Yeah, for a daily I’d recommend sticking to the stock size and sizing down to 17s; it’s just a bit difficult to find decent wheels in 17x7.5. A lot of people also recommend a 17x8 setup for daily/spirited driving. It will be my daily driver. I think the OEM wheels are ugly
