Since the GR86 is coming sooner than expected, how do we think it's going to affect the price of used first gen 86s and BRZs?

I've seen arguments for both prices going up and down. Either the prices go up because people are disappointed (ie if there's no turbo) in the GR86 or prices go down because the new car is going to be a hit.

If I were a betting man I say used prices are going to go down because I don't see Toyota/Subaru screwing up that badly.

I think the value will go down as well, from the leaks and speculations on the vehicles to come even a slight bump in power and refresh in styling will make the new cars sale. They wont sell crazy numbers but enough will sale that it will make the current models worth less for sure, which sucks but its still a Toyota and Subaru so I don't think the prices will drop drastically.

There should be some good deals on the old cars when the new ones show up. I think it'll entice people that have never owned one to get it for the first time.

I agree with you there, I don't see a drastic drop either because it's still a great car.
