With cars incoming for quite a few people I think an exhaust discussion for this sub forum may be a good idea. So any input on exhaust options are welcome. It is painful to see the vast array of options the USA has relative to us. I have an account with a US shipping service so I am weighing up all options.

Are there any high quality locally made options?

Single vs Double Outlet?

304 vs Titanium?

In the same place as you. I'm considering either of these 3 : Invidia Q300, HKS Legamax, or Fujitsubo AR. The Invadia is almost half the price of the other two and sounds almost as good.... tempted

I've got a Fujitsubo A-R which I got direct from Japan (via Jesse Streeter) for just over $2k landed. The shipping costs make the exhaust expensive - it's about $700 for DHL door-to-door. I only declared the value at $990 so I didn't get hit with GST/import tax.

Its a pretty quiet cat back once its past the cold start phase but I've got nothing to compare it too - I think it could do with a bit more volume so will probably try the HKS front pipe for the gen2. It's pretty mute on drive-bys.

How is it in the cabin during spirited driving? As long as it's noticeable and sounds significantly better then I'm okay with that since I don't want it to be that loud.
It's got a deep rumble tone to it and is audible in the cabin. You can make the exhaust burble on downshifts which is nice.

I'd say its a gentlemen's exhaust - enough noise but not obnoxious like some of the other exhausts. Cold start is still loud but not much you can do about that. I think it'd sound perfect with some headers.

I went with HKS Spec L II + HKS Front pipe. Easily available here with HKS having an office here.
Cold starts are definitely the highlight if you like a rumbly start. Once warmed up idle is almost not noticeable.
Exhaust starts being heard in cabin around the 3-5k mark but not exactly something you would call loud.
Down shift pops and random burbles occasionally.
Would have considered Tomei duals if they had them available earlier. Something about Ti that sounds great compared to SS.

This exhaust is on my short list. I want to be comparatively discreet and it seems it would fit that brief. How much did it cost you?

If you're just getting the catback it definitely is discreet enough. With the front pipe, it goes a little deeper on acceleration. Which is what I wanted after I installed the catback at first.
