EU premiere will be on 02.12.2021 in Germany, Essen on the Essen Motor Show.
I will be there on 03. of December and will give you some updates.
The exhibitor is Lackas. Lackas is the biggest Toyota reseller in western Germany.

I'm hoping for the ducktail spoiler on the premium and the possibility of red interior.
I will also update you, if possible, on prices and preorder date.
Hope to get some fair discount

Anything particular you want to know? I think most has been said about it but maybe you have a europe related question..
For example i also want to know if the car gets an gasoline particulate filter to meet EU high emission standards (which would most likely reduce overall power and engine sound output ).

The most important thing I want to know is when will we be available to preorder it, will it be in some months? will it be by the end of next year? The wait is killing me!

And maybe europe related, if we will really get to see extra parts addons like the BRZ has in the US, or we will just be limited to the normal car and a performance pack option just like with the supra.

Personally I want to get a MT GR86 with all the extras possible, and I'll still probably do modifications to the car as long as I can (there are huge restrictions here in spain).

So basically any extra information will relieve me a little bit at least

They probably can't answer this, but I'd really love to know if its twin BRZ will also make it to Europe at some point in the future (maybe reintroduce it with the remodeled facelift version in 3-4 years). It's such a shame that they canceled the BRZ in Europe.

I heard from a guy whose subaru dealer told him that he was sure that the BRZ would make it to spain because they'll be releasing new EVs and hybrids, allowing them to sell the BRZ too. Take it with a grain of salt though, but there might be a slight chance to get it

I will search for a Subaru exhibitor and will ask them as Toyota will most likely not have an answer.
But there are points that stop the BRZ from coming to Europe:

• Even worse sales numbers then the Gt86
• Toyotas fleet is (according to the EU regulations) Co2 positive, Subarus not. Every car with high Co2 output will then be loaded with a Co2 fee making it impossible for the BRZ to compete with the Gr86 price wise.
• For how much longer will we see classic non electrified cars? The official date in Germany is 2030. But I really expect manufacturer to stop making these cars even before because of regulations. I don't even expect a facelift to come for the Gr86 to be honest..

But the WR rally blue is awesome I understand your feelings. And the BRZs interieur (red stitching) is nicer.

What is pissing me is that in the spanish website there is no Coming Soon for the 86 unlike the german/european page. I hope it's just something that does not really matter.

I've settled to get an 86, despite checking on the miata and the supra (which are tempting to get) for me the 86 is the best bet over all the cars in the market atm and I don't think this will change in the near future, so I'll stick here updating with whatever I have until I get my toyota

And how crazy would it be if the BRZ comes to Spain but not the GR86? I could see it happen if Subaru gets permission to sell the BRZ in Spain and Toyota doesn't want to interfere with Subaru's sales numbers there. After all, Toyota owns part of Subaru so they might try to prevent the Gr86 and BRZ from eating each others sales numbers up.

Sadly I won`t be able to visit the EMS this year.
Would be nice if you can find out the european HP and Torque numbers (I hope the OPF wont cut the numbers for us) aswell as the possible Top Speed of the car.

Also I want to add that I fear we wont get the ducktail spoiler on the premium model.
If you look up the pre release pics on Toyota Germany you can see the premium model without the ducktail.
For the red interior I fear we will miss that out aswell. I think it will be an JDM or right hand drive only thing, since it would made no sence to give the red carpet to the EU models and not to the US models (which is already confirmed).

I think we will get a Performance "Premium" Variant or Something Like the gr Yaris has or its an Aeropacket. I need that Spoiler. Looks pretty good. But i dont think we will get the Red interior. Its a Japanise Thing. We will See Soon

There are already a handful Gr86 in Europe currently in Spain on Parcmotor Castellioli. It has a german number plate and will most likely be the ones unvailed next month in Essen. That would also explain why there are wrapped.

We will also see the first reviews of european reviewer in the coming week.
The cars I can see on the pictures are red, white and black. But none of them have red interior or the ducktail spoiler. I'm pretty sure there will be aftermarket options or the possibility to buy the original part from Toyota in case of the spoiler.
But it doesn't seem like it will be included in the premium package.

The Gr86 will be produced for 2 years for europe. It will definitely priced below the Gr yaris.
Starting price point is 30k € for the base model. Unfortunately they where not able to specify it any further than: "starts at 30k € and ends at 40k €".
One of the salesman said that the premium manual model will cost around 37k €. Another one said they don't have any information at all. So the first one seems to be guessed also. Considering that other sources state that it will be priced like the outgoing model I think 34k € for the premium manual is realistic.

Unfortunately the red interior will not come to europe. If we can get the spoiler is not yet clear but it will be extra so not included in the premium trim.
The first models will arrive in April/May at the dealerships. Maybe even later due to Corona.
I could already place my contact details for an order later on.
It seems like Toyota has so called "Toyota Gr reseller". So not every Toyota dealer will be able to get a Gr86 right at the start. Make sure that you find the right dealer in your area to get one first.
For Germany west this is Autohaus Lackas.

The model will have 234 hp/172 kW so no OPF.
Other then that I can give you the fuel consumption numbers which are really high for my tasting.
Please consider that this is the automatic version which usually needs more fuel.

It seemed like most people at the fair liked the looks but still don't realize what this car is about. I already overheard people saying: "It's small, my Golf will beat it on the Autobahn" and in general many confused looking persons around the car.
This was especially evident when the salesman realized that I am the only one around who is really in to this car, immediately stopped everything else and tried to get my contact informations. So maybe in Europe still a car just for enthusiasts.
Unfortunately other than that no further information to accessories.

I'm 95% sure as I couldn't ask.. but the fuel consumption numbers make it pretty evident that they tried to work around the OPF. Usually cars with very efficient fuel burning produce more particle which have to be burned by an OPF. Most cars affected by this are turbocharged direct fuel injection cars.
