I am assuming they want me to pre- drill holes where there is the indention in the rear bumper, and then use the screws.
So how do they expect you to mount the plates?Good pics, thanks @PhatFreshPrince. My dealer has strict instructions to not drill the front or rear bumpers at all when my car arrives.
I'm taking it home with the temp tag in the car with me. If I get pulled over I don't care. I will mount a rear plate myself; in Kentucky front plates are not required...which is awesome! So how do they expect you to mount the plates?
Correct me if Im wrong, but doesnt it mount on the trunk lid instead of the bumper? This pic doesnt look like a trunk lid. Here is a closer look at the rear plate area. There are 8 small pinholes in the tag area. I guess a set is for the US and a set for Japan. View attachment 2922
Those pins holes dont come from the factory like that. Here are the front pinholes. Seeing the layout for the front holes makes me think the inner holes in the back are for the US plates. View attachment 2923
I assume you are asking and not stating this. Yes, I believe the pinholes are made in the bumper during the molding process. If you look closely there is a circle around the pinholes. That circle is a small bowl with the pinhole at the center. Those pins holes dont come from the factory like that.
I could be wrong, but everyone one that i've seen online only comes with the threaded holes from factory and any additional holes came from dealer before people took delivery of it.I assume you are asking and not stating this.
