Butt Dyno and Driving Results From the Delicious Tuning Stage 2 Flex Fuel Tune

I've received my Delicious Tuning Flex Fuel kit the other day and installed it yesterday. The installation was pretty easy and the app for the ethanol content reading is working(it does take about a minute to connect). Uploading/programming the ECU ROM data went okay except for a now known bug in the ECUTEK programming software: I had an error message pop up about the program not being able to read the GR86001.bin file. I contacted Nazar around 12:30 EST and had gotten a reply later that afternoon with the file that I needed and instructions on where to put the file on my laptop. After following the instructions in the email and adding the file this morning, I was able to reprogram my ECU again without an issue. Before I was able to get the file added to my ECU, I noticed that the throttle response wasn't like how it was from the factory, it was really linear and made the car feel slower. After adding the file to my ECU, wow, what a difference it made to throttle response and overall performance!

I went to the local Sheetz and filled up with ~9 gallons of E85 above the 1/4 tank of 93 that I already had. I downloaded the app for monitoring ethanol content and it is currently at 58.5% ethanol. Their dyno graph of stage 2 with flex fuel is with 60%, so I should have roughly the same amount of power at the wheels as depicted in their graph. It definitely feels like it! Mid range and top end definitely improved, especially in 3rd and 4th gear. I didn't go but so fast during my test drive, being that I was just on a local back road. I normally am only able to break traction when shifting from 1-2 gear but now am able to break traction when shifting from 2-3, with grippy Continental DWS-06 Plus present! I ditched the crappy Michelin Primacy tires about a couple of days after taking delivery of my car.

My modification list:

•K&N intake
•Jackson Racing oil cooler
•FTSpeed UEL catted header
•SR*S front and over pipes
•Borla S-Type cat-back
•AEM oil pressure gauge and 3D printed vent pod
•06-07 WRX front and rear calipers with Hawk HPS pads
•Delicious Tuning Stage 2 Flex Fuel tune and their flex fuel sensor

Where does the black box connect to? This is different from last gen and I can’t find instructions anywhere.

Black box plugs into the ethanol sensor and piggybacks in between the CAN bus plug on the driver strut tower.

Thank you!
Pm me your email and I can forward it. Tbh I don’t think it made a difference though. I wasn’t sure my tune had worked before without it and then I retuned with it and nothing really changed.
Mind just sharing what you know about that? Can’t PM you

Everything I know has been posted in this thread. I can’t share .bin file here so some of us have been sharing it via email and it’s a bit safer to pm each other our emails instead of posting them.

If you want a tldr here goes but it’s still kind long:

Some people are getting an error message while trying to program that says EcuTek can’t find a specific .bin file.

Tuning company told me tune went through and not to worry about it.

Tuning company told another member where to put .bin file and sent them .bin.

Other member shared instructions and .bin with me.

I retuned with .bin anyways because why not. Car was tuned previously like tuning company told me but now no error message.

Other members and I can share .bin via email but not via forum as there is no way to share downloadable files via forum

I havent even had to deal with it yet, but EcuTek isnt winning me over with anything. Unfortunately they are the only option. It shouldnt take weeks to months for simple fixes like adding a .bin file that we know is missing. I can only chalk it up to a European thing. Nothing tends to happen with any sort of urgency across the pond. These cars have been on the road 2 years and we still have barely useable tuning. This is very different from every vehicle I have ever had. Many of which were 1st model years that I ordered well in advance. This has been my most frustrating part of ownership.

Appreciate the type out. I got the error and was told I need to reflash it. I don’t notice any reason why I would need to. But I wasn’t given instructions to do anything different so just curious. Yes this is beyond annoying but it is what it is

Here's a video of my 6/10 or so out 10/10(no full send) session at VIR during HyperFest's HyperDrive event this past Sunday morning on the Patriot course:
Update about my flex fuel dt adventures.

Before I start I have to say DT customer service is amazing. Quick response and great communicators.

I installed the kit and everything was working well for about 3 days. The extra power was intoxicating.
Then my entire dashboard started to light up and show multiple cam related sensor issues. The car itself was running alright.

I contacted nazar and bill got involved quickly and offered solutions. After several trouble code clearences and attempts to check the install was appropriate they continued to occur.

The team decided there was a harness issue and are sending me a new one and i am sending the old one for diagnosis.

Overall very happy with the service and tune quality.

Will updated once new harness is installed.

Standard stage 1 off the shelf I assume.
Good to hear it is making noticable power.

It was their stage 1 flex fuel tune. Yes the power difference is very noticeable.
Heck yeah so excited I should be receiving my tune by Tuesday or Wednesday I was told. I notice the fuel lines are different from gen 1. Where can I find instructions on how to connect the flex fuel sensor?

There arent any yet. Just wing it. Of the cars I have seen so far everybody hooked the lines up differently. IMO the bracket needs to be redesigned or fuel lines made differently than they are to avoid clearance\rubbing issues.
