Butt Dyno and Driving Results From the Delicious Tuning Stage 2 Flex Fuel Tune

I've received my Delicious Tuning Flex Fuel kit the other day and installed it yesterday. The installation was pretty easy and the app for the ethanol content reading is working(it does take about a minute to connect). Uploading/programming the ECU ROM data went okay except for a now known bug in the ECUTEK programming software: I had an error message pop up about the program not being able to read the GR86001.bin file. I contacted Nazar around 12:30 EST and had gotten a reply later that afternoon with the file that I needed and instructions on where to put the file on my laptop. After following the instructions in the email and adding the file this morning, I was able to reprogram my ECU again without an issue. Before I was able to get the file added to my ECU, I noticed that the throttle response wasn't like how it was from the factory, it was really linear and made the car feel slower. After adding the file to my ECU, wow, what a difference it made to throttle response and overall performance!

I went to the local Sheetz and filled up with ~9 gallons of E85 above the 1/4 tank of 93 that I already had. I downloaded the app for monitoring ethanol content and it is currently at 58.5% ethanol. Their dyno graph of stage 2 with flex fuel is with 60%, so I should have roughly the same amount of power at the wheels as depicted in their graph. It definitely feels like it! Mid range and top end definitely improved, especially in 3rd and 4th gear. I didn't go but so fast during my test drive, being that I was just on a local back road. I normally am only able to break traction when shifting from 1-2 gear but now am able to break traction when shifting from 2-3, with grippy Continental DWS-06 Plus present! I ditched the crappy Michelin Primacy tires about a couple of days after taking delivery of my car.

My modification list:

•K&N intake
•Jackson Racing oil cooler
•FTSpeed UEL catted header
•SR*S front and over pipes
•Borla S-Type cat-back
•AEM oil pressure gauge and 3D printed vent pod
•06-07 WRX front and rear calipers with Hawk HPS pads
•Delicious Tuning Stage 2 Flex Fuel tune and their flex fuel sensor

I believe things like flat foot shift, multiple maps, and auto blip are only available with race rom while E-tuning. I have seen others with the features but they were done directly on the dyno by a tuner.
I really only want the flat foot shift feature. I do it already, but it is a bit abusive if not done fast enough.
Yes, a header is required. When you get to that point, specify which modifications you have in the comments section of the order so that they can send you the right map.

Here‘s their page about the stage 2 tune: 2022+ Subaru BRZ Stage 2 (91 oct and E85) - EcuTek Dyno Tuned - Results | Delicious Tuning
Last I checked (which was a while ago), they weren't getting over 240 on the dyno. Am I misremembering or is that from more recent testing?

It looks like in their last dyno graph on that page that they achieved 244.8 WHP.
I got my flex fuel kit installed as well had to removed my strut bar to mount the analyzer. Its okay, from what I have been reading the bar doesnt do anything but add weight.

I emailed about the flex fuel tune and attached the stage 2 v1.55 tune that was sent to me when the kit was shipped, and was told the flex fuel tune hasn't been released yet and Bill was still working on it. So I'm confused about the tune I was sent.

Then when I asked about the app they said it's not released yet either.

Side note: I mount my little black box in the same spot. :D
Sorry for the confusion.

These are the Flex Fuel Versions.

Version 1.45 (Stage 1 Flex Fuel)
Version 1.55 (Stage 2 Flex Fuel)

The app should be getting released this week. Just had to add more photos for Android. They want so many variations.

As for some of the RaceROM features (Launch Control, Flat Foot Shifting, Autoblip, Delicious Traction Control), they are not all quite working correctly. So we have not been activating them until they are fixed, possibly on the next RaceROM release.

Do I need a header for stage two? if I purchase a flex fuel tune this week will I get race rom features as an update later or do I have to pay for them when they are released?

Yes, you need a header for stage 2 - that's what stage 2 means. Stage 1 - just tune. Stage 2 - header + tune. I believe you can add a flex fuel option to either which requires a flex fuel kit.

It looks like I'm at 60% ethanol after topping off my tank last night with more E85. The car runs great. I also added ~2.5 ounces of Lucas’ upper cylinder lubricant and fuel injector cleaner. I’ve read about E85 possibly causing cylinder and ring washing over time.

Why are you running 0 psi? I would totally turn up the PSI to eleven if I were you. ;)

Any ideas when an update will be released?

I was planning this week, but ended up rupturing my Achilles tendon, and been in and out of the doctors office for a few days now. Now in a cast and stuck at home for the next two weeks. So the plan is to get myself situated to continue working remotely.

Does the app show water temps, oil temps ,oil pressure?
Got my kit all installed, but still without a tune. I am holding out for some more features, at least phone flash. I was running just 93 octane premium for the cooler temps and now that it is warming up I am going back to blending in a little E85.
Mixing 1.5 gallons into a full tank of premium put me only at 15.2% ethanol. That puts the E85 at that gas station currently only around 63% ethanol. Still some winter blend it seems.

Pm me your email and I can forward it. Tbh I don’t think it made a difference though. I wasn’t sure my tune had worked before without it and then I retuned with it and nothing really changed.

No, only ethanol percentage and fuel pressure if you have their add on sensor.

I see…thank you!
