Butt Dyno and Driving Results From the Delicious Tuning Stage 2 Flex Fuel Tune

I've received my Delicious Tuning Flex Fuel kit the other day and installed it yesterday. The installation was pretty easy and the app for the ethanol content reading is working(it does take about a minute to connect). Uploading/programming the ECU ROM data went okay except for a now known bug in the ECUTEK programming software: I had an error message pop up about the program not being able to read the GR86001.bin file. I contacted Nazar around 12:30 EST and had gotten a reply later that afternoon with the file that I needed and instructions on where to put the file on my laptop. After following the instructions in the email and adding the file this morning, I was able to reprogram my ECU again without an issue. Before I was able to get the file added to my ECU, I noticed that the throttle response wasn't like how it was from the factory, it was really linear and made the car feel slower. After adding the file to my ECU, wow, what a difference it made to throttle response and overall performance!

I went to the local Sheetz and filled up with ~9 gallons of E85 above the 1/4 tank of 93 that I already had. I downloaded the app for monitoring ethanol content and it is currently at 58.5% ethanol. Their dyno graph of stage 2 with flex fuel is with 60%, so I should have roughly the same amount of power at the wheels as depicted in their graph. It definitely feels like it! Mid range and top end definitely improved, especially in 3rd and 4th gear. I didn't go but so fast during my test drive, being that I was just on a local back road. I normally am only able to break traction when shifting from 1-2 gear but now am able to break traction when shifting from 2-3, with grippy Continental DWS-06 Plus present! I ditched the crappy Michelin Primacy tires about a couple of days after taking delivery of my car.

My modification list:

•K&N intake
•Jackson Racing oil cooler
•FTSpeed UEL catted header
•SR*S front and over pipes
•Borla S-Type cat-back
•AEM oil pressure gauge and 3D printed vent pod
•06-07 WRX front and rear calipers with Hawk HPS pads

Nice..!! I have my kit sitting at home.
I am waiting for the phone flash and race rom features to be available. If it ends up taking too long, maybe I will just get what is available. I havent owned a windows laptop for at least a decade, so that is a bit of a PITA.

Look out for schools selling old equipment, you can snag a decent working one for like $150 half the time

I probably would’ve waited for the phone flash ability to become available too if I didn’t already have a personal laptop for work. Right now, our scan tool application isn’t compatible with Windows 11 yet so I’m waiting on that. I couldn’t pass up on the deal at Costco last year.

Do you visit the schools' websites and look for used laptops?
I got my flex fuel kit installed as well had to removed my strut bar to mount the analyzer. Its okay, from what I have been reading the bar doesnt do anything but add weight.

I emailed about the flex fuel tune and attached the stage 2 v1.55 tune that was sent to me when the kit was shipped, and was told the flex fuel tune hasn't been released yet and Bill was still working on it. So I'm confused about the tune I was sent.

Then when I asked about the app they said it's not released yet either.

Side note: I mount my little black box in the same spot. :D

Yeah the whole FF thing and tuning in general for this car has turned out to be a y bigger debacle than I would have ever guessed a year and a hald ago when I got my car. I thought that since most 1st gen parts bolt right up the tune cant be that hard to figure out..... Right?
Nope.
The whole windows laptop thing for me isnt that they are expensive, its just that windows sucks horribly and I dont like it. How such a horrible system has become the world standard is beyond me.

Yea I'm using my super old laptop from about 7 years ago. It does the job but not optimal for driving around and logging.

Can you pm me the details about the instructions for gr86.bin acquisition and placement or post them here? I had the same error but they told me it was fine and that I was programmed.

Is rev match downshifts an option with the flex fuel Tune?

Not that I’m aware of. I think it’s only going to be available once RaceRom features are enabled on the second generation.
Oh ok. Do I need a header for stage 2 tune? Dang I’ve waited so long and now I gotta continue to wait!! 😭

Yes, a header is required. When you get to that point, specify which modifications you have in the comments section of the order so that they can send you the right map.

Here‘s their page about the stage 2 tune: 2022+ Subaru BRZ Stage 2 (91 oct and E85) - EcuTek Dyno Tuned - Results | Delicious Tuning
It has never really even been "auto rev match" more of just an auto blip that gets the revs somewhat in the right general area. It will still be up to you to get the clutch timing right if you want it to be smooth.

Nah I just look out on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace, not the most common thing but if you have lots of towns around you with their own highschools it'll happen eventually, usually in the summer.
Really? That’s disappointing to hear regarding the auto blip.

Just look at it as an opportunity to improve your skills. Those who rely on such features to do the hard work for them tend to never improve.

Your right
I can rev match downshifts pretty good I just can’t do it while braking my foot won’t allow me to. I’m awaiting my flex fuel kit hope it arrives this week. What does race rom have that you are waiting for? (Out of context here…I hope delicious tuning does a flex fuel kit for the new tundra twin turbo v6.)
