I’m currently on the reservation list for a Halo White GR86 Premium MT. After I had put myself on the list, I got excited and went ahead and ordered a Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust. I found an amazing deal on it on Amazon. I couldn’t believe it since they normally go for $1100+. It is legitimate and I made sure to read the reviews before ordering. I received mine a couple of weeks ago and it’s definitely the real deal!
Yep. Same one I got a few months ago before my car showed up as well. Its a great kit and you wont be disappointed. Just take your time getting things lined up. Some people experience clearance problems that are almost always avoidable with proper alignment.
Like most exhausts people are using on these the borla kit is from the gen 1 car. It fits prefect and sounds even better on the FA24 in my opinion. There are only a few kits out there that say they are for the gen 2. In reality, with a catback if it fits, it works. There is nothing revolutionary about a kit that says its for a gen 2.
The JDL and FTspeed catted headers fit. I believe both use tubing slightly bigger than OEM as well. Many other cheap brands actually use smaller piping than what we have stock.
Good to know. Thanks! I was thinking about getting the FTspeed headers. I’ve heard that the other brands currently available have smaller diameter piping and wanted to wait.
There is surprisingly little to no drone. Under load it gets deep and moderately loud now that I added the front pipe. But at cruising speed and light throttle there is no drone to speak of. The tire and wind noise is still the loudest thing in the interior.
Only thing need to pay close attention to is muffler clearance from driveshaft... But once it's bolted in, loosen the bolts and clamp to the muffler.. Twist pipe clockwise... Plenty of clearance.
